We stayed pre and post cruise at the Black Pearl. It is close to the cruise port and with one suitcase it is an easy walk to the ship. Located in the old part of Reykjavik you can walk to numerous restaurants and shops. It is an easy walk to the big church. A very good location. The start at the reservation desk is with a friendly, helpful receptionist who makes you feel comfortable with your hotel choice. The two rooms we had were exceptionally clean and very spacious. A full kitchen allowed us to have breakfast in the room and even a dinner. It is a high tech room with many light controls. Many large windows allowing in the light. A roomy bathroom and luxury bedding. It was a treat to have an elevator entrance to the room with a safety door if that made you more comfortable. Highly recommended and yes, we will stay at the Black Pearl during our next visit.

The Black Pearl is a real gem! Very clean and modern with great conveniences - a fully equipped kitchen to cook if you are interested, full size refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster etc. The harbor location is perfect!!! Great restaurants and activities near by. A very close bus stop for tour pick ups. In 5 minutes you can reach the main shopping, restaurant and gathering spots. Also an incredibly professional and friendly staff that happily answers questions and takes care of your needs. Serge and Alavaro were awesome! They are great ambassadors for the hotel. If you secure a reservation at the Black Pearl you won’t be disappointed!!!

We stayed here pre & post our tour and Black Pearl looked after our suitcase whilst we went on the tour at no cost. The team are friendly, responsive & professional. Our apartment was spacious, clean, practical & central to everything around the city. Highly recommended and preferred over a standard hotel. We brought breakfast from the local supermarket and had freshly brewed coffee. Generous bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and modern living areas. Walking distance to the harbour for tours, restaurants and city shopping. The perfect place to stay where you are squeezed into a small hotel room. Washing facilities available too. We will definitely be back.

Very nice appartement, fully equipped with a real kitchen! Perfect location : close to a lot of restaurants, harbor, grocery store are at 10 min walk. Breakfasts price is very expensive I advise to make your own. You have too at 5 min walk a free parking. The staff is very helpful, front desk is open 24/24.

This was our first time staying at the Black Pearl and it did not disappoint. There’s a very good reason there are so many positive reviews! Everything about the hotel is “thoughtful” - the service, the amenities, the set up of the room. We ordered breakfast one morning and the staff took great care to make sure the table was set up perfectly - they don’t miss a detail at this hotel. It’s very clean in a very convenient location. What more could you want?

Excellent experience! We will stay here again on our next trip to Iceland. Conveniently located near the harbour/downtown, spotless, modern, well-appointed with a lovely staff. Suite was spacious for four with in-room climate control, room service for breakfast and a fully equipped kitchen (only made a couple light meals during our week+ stay because restaurant access is very convenient). Rooms are quiet with the windows closed, the pub/bar scene is a few blocks away. Central location allowed doing different activities around town and then meet back at the BP when we wanted. Our tour transportation had no problem pick up in front or across the street in the harbour parking lot. Easily accessible indoor attached parking was a treat so we could venture out and not worry about where to put the car on our return. I already miss starting my day with a Deig donut...

The apartment was large and very comfortable. Full kitchen with dishes, pots and pans, etc. bathroom was nice with a washer & dryer. All drapes closed so we could sleep at night. We had a nice balcony but never used it as it rained. Housekeeping staff is great. The rooms were clean and had lots of towels. The front desk staff very helpful. Never saw a single person once we checked in as your fob for the elevator only goes to your apartment which was fantastic. Nice garage to keep your car. I would not hesitate to stay again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

These apartments were large, centrally located and immaculate with underground parking (at a charge). They were an ideal base for the harbour and all the lovely restaurants there and also the sights in District 101 and downtown Reykjavik. They were accurately described, really well equipped and cosy. Housekeeping daily and great having 24 hour front desk for any queries! Would really recommend and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back should I return to Iceland again.

What an amazing apartment - it exceeded all our expectations. It was spacious and well fitted, with a full sized kitchen and lots of extras such as toiletries, dressing gowns and coffee pods. Lots of hot water, a good shower and walk-in wardrobe space. The staff were friendly and helpful. The whole hotel was spotless and well maintained. And it was quiet! It's close to the old harbour with lots of eating places and museums plus only a short walk into town for all the main sites. And if you've arranged any tours then the pick up point (together with the airport shuttle bus stop) is across the road. We would 100% recommend this apartment.

Let me start out by saying i'm a multiple business owner within the hospitality industry. I brought my family to the Black Pearl because I read so many glowing reviews s and had close friends that recommended it. Great. We are a family of 5. So unfortunately, we needed two rooms--one for 3 kids (12-17) and one with two adults (or some mix therein). With that in mind, we specifically requested roughly FOUR MONTHS AGO for the king bed to be split into two doubles, which is clearly an option, per the pictures provided on the website. In fact, we doubly confirmed it via telephone and I even wrote it explicitly in the email instructions for the hotel in advance of our visit, which they had in hand for FOUR MONTHS. That's not what happened. There were NOT 2 beds as in the one bedroom as requested and there was not a reasonable accommodation made. It was absolutely pitiful--they offered to give us a 2 Br suite as a fix to THEIR screw-up but wanted to charge us an extra $485 euro for THEIR mistake (and even worse? There was only one bathroom for five people). Now, with respect to the hotel itself... The actual space is nice, but this was handled in so truly an unprofessional manner as to leave a terrible taste in my mouth. My daughter is now staying in our room because of THEIR screw up. There is a stunning cluelessness and level of unprofessionalism that cannot be forgiven for a business that needs to focus daily on the customer experience. Truly mystified that their solution to their screw up was "no real solution." Again--I'm IN the hospitality business as a professional. I would NEVER handle the situation as poorly as these folks did. Truly unimpressed.
