My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in June. We had a "superior" room, but it was the front desk service that was most exceptional. They helped us with restaurant choices, renting a car, and answered every question we had. We walked everywhere in town. They were incredibly accommodating.

We stayed here at the beginning and the end of our trip, one night each time. We had a basic room (small, sulfur water shower) the first time through and in a large, "family" suite (much larger bedroom space, with a separate bathroom within our locked area). Both rooms were noisy, with traffic and rowdy people on the street, but...

I stayed two nights spaced two weeks apart in June 2015. Reykjavik is expensive and even the four-star places are pretty spartan. The 4th-Floor Hotel stands out. The owners are welcoming; breakfast is substantial and varied, as well as tasty. Lunch, snacks and dinner in the retaurant are a bargain and the food is delicious. The rooms I had were...

First, the location is great. Walking distance to everything and they have a super friendly staff that made us feel very welcome. The rooms are spartan, bathrooms are clean but you can tell they just placed a shower in there without much thought. It does get noisy if you are on the street side which made it tough to sleep...

We stayed three nights using two rooms each visit. We had shared bathrooms for some of the rooms and it was not a problem. Everything was clean. The staff were very helpful in all our enquiries. The included breakfast was satisfactory. The location is handy to the Main Street ..Laugavegur..but at the far end so bit of a walk to...

We were here for 3 nights. Positives: Hotel was very central hence makes it easy to explore city when you are back from excursions. Breakfast was nice, they arrange early breakfasts also if you inform in advance. Staff was very helpful (e.g. they themselves offered to call our tour operator if our tour was confirmed for next morning). Negatives: Expensive....

I would not recommend this hotel! We arrived early in the morning directly from the airport. We were given room 417. The first thing we noticed was the very strong smell of air freshener. We were very tired after a overnight flight and went right to sleep. When we woke up we could smell something awful and opened the windows....

Noisy, stinks, poor value for the price. The smell on our floor was awful and the noise from outside made it nearly impossible to sleep. The rooms are extremely small with no room for 2 suitcases. We would not recommend Location was good but that was it.

Room is clean but the ambiance is very poor and everything seems to be damaging and poorly maintained. Toilet are damaging, windows cannot be closed ... It's a shame because the hotel is very well placed and early downtown.

The room was very clean, the staff was lovely, good breakfast, free wifi, good value and it is central. And even though it is small, it has a parking lot. What could you ask more? I had a discount through tripadvisor which made it even more affordable. Great experience overall.
