Detailed Reviews
I want to support the local folks, but this place needs to do make some changes to make the extra drive time and the price justifiable. Yes, it’s quiet there, but there is a missed opportunity leveraging the views with some kind of furniture on the patio to sit and relax. Simple things like refilling the instant coffee packets from one day to the next, any type of hook in the bathroom for a towel/bathrobe/etc, or emptying the trash should be included with this kind of price.

The guesthouse is found in a remote area just off Highway 1.
15 mins away from Dyrhólaey and Reynisfjara beaches.
You are required to leave your outdoor shoes at the front entrance – slippers are provided.
Our rooms (2 triple) were small in size but had private bathrooms. The view in the morning is remarkable.
we arrived late – so there was no body to check us in – the keys were left out for us at the reception.
Breakfast is available for an additional fee is requested.

Our hostess was delightful and responsive by phone. The rate was reasonable (16000 isk) for Vik area (tho breakfast was too pricey). The lodging was comfortable and quiet as we were the ONLY guests Sunday night. Bathroom had odd toilet paper dispenser that had us using bathroom near front desk when T.P. ran out😞

This guesthouse is found on a good road not far from Hwy1, Easy to find and it has good parking. The owner is nice, helpful and present during the checkin time. The rooms have ample space and are nicely furnished. Also the shared toilets and showers are good. There is a nicely furnished community room, but according to the signs no food or drink is allowed in it. The booking sites say there is no breakfast option, but upon checking in you are informed that breakfast can be purchased. It is good.

My wife and I stayed one night as part of a group tour. The room was clean and well prepared. The beds were very comfortable and made for a restful night. The bathroom was clean and well equipped. The guesthouse is part of a farm and very quiet.
The location is rather remote and there are no eating establishments in the immediate vicinity. Our guide made sure we ate dinner before we checked into the guesthouse.
Breakfast was a small buffet and more than sufficient. Waffles were prepared by employees of the guesthouse.

This was our first guesthouse experience in Iceland. We paid 450EU for two nights - booked 12 months in advance. The room was small, no tv, no fridge (although there was one in the hall we could use), small bathroom (with broken towel rail), breakfast not included (could order for an additional 3000 kroner pp), one chair to sit on, two coffee and creamer sachets provided for entire stay. Room was not cleaned whilst we were out for the day and coffee not replenished. Hostess was lovely once we got chatting. Basically overpriced for what we got. And a 40 minute drive to Vik from here if you want to eat out.

So, the place is OK.
Now, what is not ok is the management which I do not really understand. Mid March, -10 degrees, its restaurant is closed, no food at all in the place. And you are not allowed to eat your own food nor drink your own drinks (non alcoholic), forcing you to drive 20-25 mins to the closest restaurant if you want to have dinner. Conclussion, great option if you do not mind to starve.

We stayed there one night. I booked it through bookingdottcom.
Expensive for a small room no tv no table.
Sink towels were supported. Toilet and shower shared and located in the corridor.
Breakfast is not included wanted to change extra for each person around 28 euros
Kronan (supermarket) in the town Vík and cafe house can get cheaper breakfast.
Dinner was only in Vík possible to buy. Some places there.
I am sorry, but i slept well, view great. Quite place. But I could hear all words what our next room inhabitants talked together. I did not listen, just you cannot avoid hearing. You understand!! :)
Expensive
Do not recommend buy breakfast. Beause it should be included in price

I stayed here in June 2020 with my dog. It was a pleasure to stay here and meet the owner. She is one of the jewels of Iceland and a great representative of Icelandic people.
The guest house is really clean, the bedroom is comfortable as it had everything I needed for my stay. There is a garden for the dog to run around in, nice views between dyrholaey, the glaciers and the sea. I highly recommend guesthouse vellir as your base for your South Coast trip.

This is a small 1 level building with maybe 8 to 12 rooms. You have drive off the ring road 1 to find the correct location. There are adequate parking space for everybody. A restaurant is available but I think it only serve breakfast. So we need to drive to the nearby town Vik to find restaurant for dinner. There is a reception desk and the owner is normally there. The room is on the small sized but clean with private washroom and shower. The surrounding looks like farm houses with the mountain in the background. Check in and check out were quick and efficient. You are required to leave your outdoor shoes at the front entrance.
