No frills, but new and spotlessly clean. Friendly service. The guesthouse includes a small kitchen if you prefer to self-cater, or it's 20 minutes from Vik. The distance from Vik was only a small inconvenience when we went to dinner and had to drive up and down a steep hill between the restaurant and the guesthouse.

My husband and I were able to stay at Guesthouse Steig for 5 nights. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a nice bathroom included. The breakfasts were amazing with everything you could want in a Icelandic buffet style. The common kitchen for guests was well stocked and we were able to prepare our own nice evening meal. All the...

Spent one eventful night after a long drive from Reykjavik, and this charming guesthouse was the perfect rest stop for the day. Surrounded by farmland and grazing sheep, it was a well-run family property with very friendly and hospital staff. They served a wonderful dinner, albeit pricey, and the breakfast selection was good too. We stayed in a spacious double...

When we arrived at Steig, the power was out due to the terrible weather happening in the area. One of the owners invited us in to the dining area and said that we could make ourselves comfortable which the power was restored (which happened within 20 minutes). Our rooms were small with a shared bathroom. Unfortunately, the beds were fairly...

The guesthouse is located in a farm, 15 min drive from Vik. It is beautiful and cosy. Rooms are spacious and fully equipped. There is a kitchen for personal use, no oven though but the owner was kind enough to let us use their oven. Breakfast is standard. You can even see the northern lights from your room! Overall recommended.

From the guesthouse, there is a beautiful view of the country and surrounding mountains. We climbed the hill behind the guesthouse and could see the ocean. The fact the driveway is long means you really feel that you are in the country. The staff were friendly and accomdating. We were lucky to be housed in the newer section in a...

A charming guesthouse, with big clean rooms, great breakfast, a perfectly equipped kitchen and very friendly staff. The location is great as well, as nearly everything exciting in the green south of Iceland can be explored from there by car. We will definitely come again!

Absolutely as nice as a good hotel: TV, wing-back chairs, modern bathroom, comfortable queen bed, view of the sheep grazing and the North Atlantic. Delicious breakfast. Just before you arrive in Vik to the north.

We stayed here for one night. The guesthouse is a 15 minute drive outside vik and up a long Lane which also takes almost 5 minutes. Staff were friendly. We had a room with shared bathroom. The room was very dated. The bathroom is in need of replacing and the shower quite dirty due to age. The breakfast was very...

The farm is really nice. Owners and employees are very welcoming but the food was un tasty and terrible expensive, even for Iceland standards. Not worth to eat there, but worth to stay in My kids loved the animals. There are bunnies, sheeps and dogs
