International youth hostel in a superb location in Vík Í Myrdal, with excellent views on the town and the shore. Facilities are good, the place is clean and it is eco-friendly (although unfortunately the staff isn't so friendly). In my opinion, youth hostels in Iceland are pretty expensive for what you get. A bed in a shared room (in which...

fully-equipped kitchen that was spotlessly clean. In fact the whole hostel was pretty well spotless. It was very quiet- staff weren't very friendly. I don't think I saw a single staff member smile while we stayed there. Breakfast looked mediocre and was 1500ikr so we had our own. It's 700ikr if you aren't a member of the international Hostelling association...

I had a single room with a large conformable bed, a bedside lamp and an armchair. One toilet/bathroom only on that floor. My room was next to it and the shower cubicle append to be very noisy. I used the guest kitchen which was clean, well equipped and clear. The eating area is of a good size and clear. The...

A very nice cosy hostel in the beautiful village of Vik. Hostel very homely feel, warm and welcoming. Only downside is there is only two shower and two toilets for the whole hostel. We even saw the northern lights from the carpark!

I've stayed here a few times now, and it's a great place to meet people if you're travelling alone. I always meet some fun backpackers there. It's perched up on a hill overlooking the town, with a little restaurant a short walk away. There's a big kitchen with everything you need to self-cater. Always seems to smell of fried fish,...

The hostel is very slightly more expensive than the alternative in Vik but don't make the mistake of going to the other one. It is around the corner from one restaurant (which is OK) and short walk from the centre of Vik. The group of Spanish people looking after this HI hostel are doing a fantastic job. I felt welcomed...

I usually don't take the time to do this things, but this place deserves a good review. Everything is super clean, good location and kitchen is fully equipped and well kept. They take such good care of the place that it made me feel like I was at my grandma's (in a good way) the staff they are all very...

This magical place is run by amazing people and all the facilities are quality. I have stayed there a handful of times and I´m always pleasantly surprised. Don´t rush it through Vík as this is a nice town to make day trips from, hiking or driving.
