We stayed at Leatherwood for the week during work. It was a brilliant base for our week’s work as we could come and go, and the sitting room was a brilliant place to debrief the day. The cooked breakfast each morning was flavoursome and gave us plenty of stamina for the day. The spacious retreat enables flexibility, and there are numerous vantage points to enjoy the surroundings.

Recently stayed here with my partner for a local wedding. The lodge is perfectly located in a quiet estate with accompanying relaxing garden and pool. Our room had everything we needed for a brief stay and lacked for nothing. While we did not use the incredibly tasteful sitting room and library it was superb.

The tailored breakfast and coffee the next morning after a swim in the pool was the perfect send off. Would gladly stay and come again. The hosts are also great for a chat, but do give you space as well.

We have been guests at the LeatherWood Lodge two or three times before. We live in the Brisbane area but do enjoy a weekend at the secluded location of the lodge. The place breathes culture. The library is stylish and invites to dwell and read a good book (there are many to choose from) or to play the grand piano. We enjoyed the exquisite breakfast and the intellectual discourse with our hosts. The swim in the pool before breakfast was refreshing and we were sad to depart. Never mind - we will be back.

For the most discerning traveller. Luxurious, faultless and friendly. Absolute first class experience. Don't even consider staying elsewhere.
An architectural masterpiece (atop a peaceful and panoramic hilltop) with welcoming, non intrusive hosts. Five stars just doesn't do this justice.

I needed to find somewhere to stay overnight in Brisbane after picking up my wife who had flown in from 3 months overseas looking after our unwell son. I searched numerous places on both wotif and lastminute before turning to the RACQ Accommodation Guide. Having identified some 20 places which I explored further, I ended up narrowing my list down to LeatherWood Lodge and another place. I rang both. For personal reasons I decided to go with Leatherwood Lodge. It sounded full of promise and indeed a place of tranquility separate, but not too far removed, from the hustle and bustle of the city. In my communications beforehand with our host Ulla I found her respectful and willing to accommodate my requests for dietary needs and indeed preferences, at no extra charge. As we drove there and got closer, my wife commented on the beauty or perhaps peacefulness of the neighbourhood. As we were greeted and shown our room, my wife early on commented that this was the best B & B we'd stayed in (& we'd probably stayed in some 10 or 15 in Montville, Maleny, Flaxton, the Blackall Ranges & Springbrook over the past 18 years). The host, Ulla, was friendly and accommodating, the complimentary chocolates, bikkies and drink were appreciated, the shower was beautiful (though we both found it took a little while to get warm), the Lodge was massive, the bedroom and bathroom were large, the sitting room (?) with the Baby Grand and guitar and numerous wonderful bookshelves full of magical books was huge and peaceful and comfortable, the hallways were wide, the timber-work was gorgeous and, perhaps best of all, the food was to-die-for and scrumptious and yummy, all combined. My only suggestion to make it even better would be for Wi-Fi that reached the bedrooms, though this didn't really seem to be a significant issue because, whilst essentially in paradise, we were close enough to town to be able to access 4G signal on my Android. We will definitely recommend LeatherWood Lodge to our friends who are looking for somewhere special to stay in a tranquil, almost bush, setting but no more than ten minutes, if that, from the shops (at Kenmore?). No regrets. Would love to stay there again. It's places like this that we keep in mind for future anniversary getaways for our 5 sons or for friends who might be visiting Brisbane and wanting somewhere special, relaxing and peaceful to stay as a couple. Bill.
