We stayed on New Year's eve for one night only to see in the New Year. Everything, except wines, was included in the price so we had afternoon tea on arrival, a champagne reception with canapes before dinner, a six course dinner, dancing to a fantastic band, champagne and haggis at midnight, breakfast the next day, clay pigeon shooting and... Stayed for a couple of nights after Christmas. This is a friendly and historic house which is a relaxing place to be. Special mention for the excellent food produced by Matt and Tom. It is really world class at sensible prices. It is rather too easy to relax after dinner in front of a huge log fire and quaff The... More

Glorious building and grounds. Close the wonderful Dartmoor. Service good, but let down rather by the food. Would probably go again just for the location alone, but not a hotel for true good lovers sadly.

We stayed two nights at Lewtrenchard to attend a family wedding. Our room was called Seymours and was conveniently adjacent to the main building. The room far exeeded our expectations being spacious with a good sized ensuite which had an excellent shower.
