Welcome to the charming and refined "Palais LeBrun", an authentic sixteenth century Baroque palace where you will live like a Knight of St.John. You will enjoy the privacy of this quiet 2000 square metre palace comprising 28 luxury rooms, a rooftop terrace with pool deck, a fitness center, and a meeting room. This palace, which offers luxury, comfort, modernity and traditional sixteenth century Maltese architecture, is a true invitation to travel another way. The hotel also ha an annex available for private dining or confidential meetings, a space we also sometimes use to host local Art Exhibitions. You can access 'Palais LeBrun' by car although it is located right in the heart of the historical area of Valletta, only two blocks away from the central square.

Detailed Reviews
Palais le Brun
This is a boutique hotel of 26 rooms in Valetta, Malta. Located on Old Bakery Street the hotel is convenient to the main shopping and restaurant street, Republic Street. Walking distance to Sliema Ferry, Fort St. Elmo, and the cathedrals of Valetts.
When we arrived there was an issue with our booking. The management took care of the issue promptly and without the need for us to get aggravated. We are quite pleased with the resolution of the matter. This appears to be the culture of the hotel as we were to find out throughout our stay.
The staff is friendly and accommodating. They arranged airport taxi service at a reasonable rate that was charged to the room. They offered advice on places to go and things to see and could book private tours if so desired.
The rooms are spacious, modern, and clean with coffee/tea service, water, and a mini bar. There is a flat screen TV and a balcony. We booked the suite with a private hot tub that came in handy after sightseeing and walking the hilly and uneven streets of the city.
Our booking included breakfast. The service had the usual assortment of fruits, juices, pastries, meats, and cheese but also offered a nice selection of hot cooked to order meals. A great way to start the day. When we booked an early taxi back to the airport, the hotel provided an early breakfast including fruit, pastries, cookies, and water to go.
The hotel has a small gym and the breakfast area serves as a restaurant for dinner.
Maltese and English are the dominant languages although Italian is commonly spoken. Travelers should have no difficulty as the hotel staff speaks other languages as well.
Overall, we are quite pleased with the hotel and especially with the staff who all went out of their way to make our stay pleasant at every opportunity.

We stayed one week at Palais le Brun for the holidays. Everything was perfect, the room was beautiful, spacious and completely equiped with electronical devices like USB plugs and a large TV. The rooftop pool was amazing too and the cocktails made by the staff of the hotel were delicious and cheap. The breakfast was really delicious, special mention to the eggs Benedict which were perfectly cooked !
One final word for the staff of the hotel : thanks for all, you made our stay unforgettable.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
We are frequent travelers and always check-out the reviews before deciding upon a particular hotel for our stay. For Malta, we chose Palais Le Brun for fourteen nights over the Christmas and New Year period. The hotel is in a great location, situated in a slightly quieter part of the City (close to the Fort St. Elmo end), however, the City centre and all the main attractions, together with good restaurants, ferries and the bus station are all within walking distance. Our room (standard double) was exactly as described and was exceptionally clean and comfortable for a two week stay; the daily cleaning team were outstanding in this regard! The breakfast was excellent; we went for the cold buffet (muesli) and coffee to start, followed by one of the hot options from the a la carte menu. All were excellent and very well presented.
From check-in to check-out, the management and staff we encountered were friendly, courteous and most helpful. I’m happy, therefore, to recommend to other travelers would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

+1
This property and its running is representative of the standard that all boutique hotels should reflect. The architecture is a feast for the eyes, both the facade and the interior. The staff are polite, well dressed and impeccably well mannered. The efficiency is superb where emails where replied within minutes every time. The room we stayed in was number 43 , including a beautiful terrace with hot tub and beautiful Valletta sea views. We ordered take out and spent the most enchanting evening enjoying music from an event in the streets below and an animated sky lit up by fireworks from a nearby festa. The room decor reeks of money invested, good quality and design well planned. The bathroom is separated by an all glass sliding wall of mirrors, elegance personified. The terrace os decorated with pretty iron chairs and a mini table , the flooring and fencing a beautiful stylish decking and the jacuzzi top range fitted with various jets and mood lighting. The whole experience was truly dreamful and quite unique as by night you have being in the water with a view of neighboring towns lit up, and by day a stunning complement of sea views. Breakfast the next morning topped the charts as a menu was served with a beautiful selection of omlettes, eggs Benedict and other delicacies. Everything was perfect including the coffee ☕ which I am particularly fussy about. They made the perfect latte. There are a series of dining rooms that lead into each other, each decorated in a classic manner with rich curtain work and paintings and ornaments. There was a subtle blues record playing in the background which was very pleasant. We stayed there to celebrate my birthday, and the hotel went all out to ensure i was properly spoiled decorating the room with cool balloons and throwing in a lovely bottle of chilled wine and a selection of coffees. Booking directly through their website currently has an offer that includes a free mini bar which we enjoyed - it's the little things that make a big difference. Subject to availability they also offer early check in and late check out with direct booking, we didn't manage either. However subject to availability they also offer room upgrade when booking directly and this they delivered on handsomely giving us the suite with sea view terrace and jacuzzi which was a real splurge and decorated the experience manifold. I think they have completely earned their stripes and stars and we cant wait to return to room number 43 !

Quite simply one of the best hotels in Valletta.
Currently travelling through Malta and staying at the Palais le brun. A warm welcome from the reception staff after a day travelling, is just what we needed. We are staying in the duplex suite. This room is amazing. A large comfy bed, mezzanine balcony offering a lounge area. Lavazza coffee machine, a marble bathroom with monsoon shower. Complmentry robes and slippers, the attention to detail is second to none. The antique furniture and two story high windows really give this room a sence of grandeur. The Maltese balcony overlooking the front of the hotel offers an opportunity to watch the world go by in the comfort of your own room.
Breakfast is just as we expected, try the eggs benedict, you won't be disappointed.
We will be returning here everytime we visit Malta as we can not fault it. The friendly staff really are a credit to this hotel. We're just sad that we only booked two nights.
Until next time Palais le Brun.

Upon arrival we realized we had not booked a twin but a double - which was our fault! despite it being 10pm the wonderful lady on reception insisted she sorted out the room while we went out for dinner. This really set the precedent for the rest of our stay as the staff could not have been more polite or more helpful. Whether it be recommending and booking a restaurant, advice on tourist attractions or ordering an Uber for us.
The room was well equipped, immaculately clean and very comfortable.
Breakfast was just delicious with plenty of choice a quick service.
The hotel is on one of the main streets in Valetta within a few minutes walk to Strait St, numerous restaurants, ferries and the beautiful St Johns Church.
Cannot recommend highly enough. We will be back!

Had to organise a long weekend trip for 21 people to Valletta and i chose this hotel as I thought it really fitted the boutique ethos of our group. Having booked the hotel for September 2020 this obviously couldn't happen so we had to roll the trip over to 2021. The staff at the hotel couldn't have been more helpful. They accommodated all our constantly changing needs and requirements, they organised taxis and buses for us and even arranged t=f or ha hospital team to come to the hotel to run covid tests on us as a requirement for re-entry into the UK. The rooms were varied, lovely, well appointed and comfortable. Some had terraces, some had hot tubs. I must admit that we didn't actually have time to use ours and I would not necessarily recommend that people pay the extra for one unless they were definitely going to use it as our hot tub room was probably the smallest of all the group rooms, but none the less it was a lovely place to be. The roof bar was atmospheric and the barman helpful though unfortunately it does close at 8pm. The rooftop pool is very small so don't expect to do lengths! Breakfast iwas varied and excellent. Overall I would strongly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here on the recommendation of our son who had stayed a few weeks earlier. Met all our expectations. All staff were friendly and helpful from the cleaning staff who kept our room topped up with toiletries and water and always clean to the staff at the roof top pool who provided advice on the cocktails as well as mixing them to perfection and also reception who had help and advice and, of course, the breakfast staff. The breakfasts were delicious. We sampled most of them in our five days and all were excellent. The roof top pool was more of a plunge pool but great for taking a dip to cool down. It was lovely just sitting up on the roof looking over Valletta. Our room on the fourth floor had a balcony which was lovely to sit out on in the morning and evening. The bed was huge and so comfortable and the room was big and airy. Can't fault this amazing hotel. Excellent for getting around in Valletta.

This is what boutique hotels are all about. My wife and I stayed there for one night and we were impressed by the sheer attention to detail and no expenses spared that must have gone to bring this historic building to the lovely boutique hotel that it is today. The decor, style, colours, fabrics, furnishings, marbles, pictures and general ambience are all top notch. The service was just as good as was the breakfast where one has such a wide selection. Most centrally located we also had a terrace that also had a heated jacuzzi with views across Marsamxett Harbour from within it.

Palais Le Brun is a true gem of Valletta. Lovely old palazzo converted into a boutique hotel without losing any of it's charm.
The very entrance to the hotel has a lounge are with vintage vitrine where you can find (and read) some of the oldest books (I am a fan just of the smell of them, mind you).
The receptionists (both night when we arrived and morning) were very professional, but at the same time extremely kind and helpful.
Breakfast is a la cart, fresh, war and tasty, and there is a selection of pastries. jams and butters you can help yourself with while waiting for your order.
Most of all I loved the roof top pool, although it was very cold, so we didn't use it, the view is breathtaking and having a coffee there before our departure was the most enjoyable.
The hotel is situated close to Grand Masters Palace in Valletta, and very close to pedestrian are, but still tucked in among small quiet streets.
If you love to feel like a royal, I would wholeheartedly recommend Palais Le Brun to you.
I know I will visit them again, 100%.

Yes the Taxi will drop you off in front of the hotel
No you need to pay only a few drinks
Sorry about the late reply .... the pool is very small ... honestly I would describe it as a plunge pool with very few sun beds ... possibly only about 8
Not close at all. You’d need a taxi.
