The hotel is a little bit run down but has a excellent location with a roof top restaurant. Both the breakfast and the rooms are good value for the money. Friendly and helpful staff. Certainly stay there again.

Received a warm welcome at reception in spite of my very late (after midnight) arrival. The hotel is accessible by a €15 taxi ride from the airport - or a bus for a tenth of the price if you arrive at a sensible time of day. The hotel is close to the Valletta bus terminal and well situated for the...

Turn to the left when you get out into the arrivals hall at Malta Airport. You will find the ticket disk for local buses under the clock and in between the entrances to ladies’ and men’s toilets. If you are planning to really visit all of Malta I suggest that you buy a bus ticket for unlimited travel during seven...

My husband and I have lost count of the number of times that we have have stayed in this traditional and atmospheric hotel with its commanding location in Castille Square. Always remembered and welcomed back by the most friendly local and helpful reception staff. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace overlooking Grand Harbour is always a wonderful start to another day...

Stayed 8 nights end March/ early April - bright and sunny most days, cold wind. The hotel is next to the Prime Minister's office and, as there was a big EU conference on, it was very entertaining to see the VIPs roll up, flags and guards of honour etc. Valletta is a fascinating city - everything from neo-lithis temple to...

Hotel is a 16th century building so has charming features - e.g. the lift doors and door to our bathroom were narrow, reception has marble staircase. The staff are friendly and helpful. We came for a Wedding which was held in the rooftop restaurant. This was an excellent location with excellent food brought round and an outside terrace with wonderful...

We tried Castille as an alternative to the rather expensive boutique hotel we had stayed at on our previous visit to Valletta. We weren’t disappointed, Castille offers a traditional almost “olde world” style, although the rooms are on the small side and somewhat tired and the common parts are dark and lofty. All staff were welcoming and helpful, in particular...

I stayed here with 85 year old mother and we thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights. The chief selling points are it's wonderful position looking out over the harbour and the quirky historical interior. The staff are extremely helpful with plenty of useful information about Valletta. On the down side the rooms are slightly faded and could do with a bit...

First the cons: the hotel has known better days and looks lugubrious and a run-down; pipes and electric appliances are noisy and inexplicable, and the rooms are spartan at best. But then the pros: best possible location in Valletta, close to the main sights and the bus station; staff is warm, helpful and polite; breakfast is plentiful and served in...

We were recommended this hotel by a friend who enjoyed his stay some years ago. The first thing to say is that it is in a really strategic position for access to all the main facilities of Valletta, with a great view from the rooftop restaurant. It is a very old building and the decor and general state of repair...
