We had a great time in our cozy Maikan cabin. I never go camping and this was the best of two worlds. A nice little house to stay in, but a bit of a camping feel since we had not toilet of our own. The common bathrooms and showers by the way were very clean and pleasant, so no complaint on that front either.

The staff was very helpful. I love that we can buy eggs and a good selection of other local products on site. The mini spas are a great idea, especially during the pandemic, and I enjoyed having the opportunity to take a yoga class, too (note: better to be familiar with yoga posture, it's not a class for total beginners).

So overall, I'm very happy with our stay in the woods, though it was not a cheap one. For that price you could get a decent hotel room. We privileged the experience instead.

We stayed here for Christmas and it was absolutely perfect. The cabin was clean and well appointed with a mini kitchenette - everything we needed for our relaxing winter escape. The cabin we were in was very small, really no more than 2 people could stay, though there were larger options available for groups.

The spa area is absolutely divine. There were plenty of hot tubs available and the sauna was centrally located so you could monitor when people came/left. Even though everything is in the same area, it is situated amongst the trees so you feel very secluded no matter which tub you are in. We arrived during a snowstorm and relaxing in the hot tub while snow was falling around was truly magical.

The shared bathhouses were very clean and well stocked, and though the place was fully book for our stay, we rarely ran into other guests there. It all felt very private, even with shared common spaces.

This is a bit out there, so plan to spend time at the cabin/spa. There was a small town nearby with restaurants, shops, and grocery stores but not much else in the area. We were there for winter, so perhaps there is more to see/do in other seasons. We did manage to find a local trail system and went on a beautiful, sunny snowshoe hike.

Will definitely be looking to come back again!

Our wonderful Maïkan cabin had everything we needed for a great stay. The bed was very comfortable and the cabin was well thought out. We also really enjoyed the spa zone and took advantage of the jacuzzis everyday. The staff was super helpful and check-in directions were simple and efficient despite us arriving very late. Thanks, Repère Boréal! We’ll be back!

Perfect place to disconnect!
We’re going for a 4th time very soon in a SHISHIP!
TRANQUILITY ....most comfy bed, electricity, running water and a washroom with rain shower! What more do you need.
Not too far from Baie St.Paul, a cute little town with shop and restaurants.
We definitely recommend!

I can't say enough about how friendly and accommodating the owners were. We loved our time in the cabin. The set up is magnificent and the cabin spotlessly clean. Sitting on the rooftop in the morning hours, amidst the tree tops, writing in my journal and listening to the birds singing was rejuvenating for the soul. Highly recommended.

Spent a winter weekend here. We appreciated our stay. Clean and lovely cabins. Lovely decor, loved the winter wonderland view.
The issue we had (although this information was known in advance) is the absence of a toilet and running water. For the price, this is something we would have appreciated. Would recommend to disconnect for a while.

We are both interested in design and the "micro cabins" do not disappoint: great attention to detail and well stocked with healthy and terroire foods from the area. We stayed at a Maikan for 2 nights this September. Would recommend if you are an outdoorsy person and fairly mobile. Spa looked great but we didn't have a chance to try. Some cabins are outfitted with running water and toilets. Ours was not but the common area bathroom was beautifully designed, clean, and always a shower or WC available.

An awesome gem in the heart of the woods! We stayed in the Maikan for a night, and could not have enjoyed it more! The reception was super nice, the area was calm, the room was cozy and the bed was incredibly comfortable. With both a sauna and hot tub on site, it's a great getaway for even those cooler times of the year! We would definitely come again and would recommend it to anyone who seeks for blissful little getaways among the beauty and serenity of nature!
