First I have Never stayed at the Continental Hotel on the sea front of Limassol, but I have sat and had delicious hot coffee many many times, and people watched and was quite oblivious to the traffic whilst talking to my wife Elsie, as to where we were going next, so much to see in Limassol. LOVE IT. I was surprised to read that it was a budget hotel. It stands so majestically on the sea front, sure it is well worth the visit
small Hotel, friendly Service, beautiful location, Breakfast und Air Condition

Sometimes I am amazed at what I read in some of the reviews about hotels on this site as well as the difference in what I find and what a reviewer says. Firstly yes the Continental Hotel is over due a redecoration but come on guys you get what you pay for and this hotel is only 25 Euros per person. For this you get a clean room, air conditioning, shower/bath, clean towels, blankets (if you need them in the winter months), TV and breakfast. This is a good value budget hotel and the staff are friendly and helpful, I have paid more to stay in worst youth hostels in Europe. If you want to pay 100 Euro a night at the Holiday Inn or similar then I am sure they will be happy to take your money. The Continental Hotel was originally built in 1917 and has some interesting architecture. The only negative I have is the street noise but this is normal for any hotel I have stayed in a large city. Lets be honest you only want to use the hotel to sleep and shower, get out and cross the road and take a stroll along the promenade and through the sculpture park, stop at one of the cafes and enjoy a cold drink and watch the ships go by. You have the tourist information office next door, places to eat all a long the road in front of the hotel and a few minutes behind the hotel. If you can’t find anything to eat here you will starve anywhere. I can recommend the Lido restaurant as a good place to eat. Walk down the promenade with the sea on your right until you get to the wooden pier, the Lido restaurant is just a cross the road. Don’t be put off by the tourist look of the place it’s the best lamb you will taste in Limassol. No problems recommending this hotel just remember you get what you pay for !…
This hotel simply does what it says on the tin! Two star, old town hotel. Don't expect anything fancy, modern or luxurious! The room was spacious, clean, if not old and worn, with cracks in most of the bathroom ceramics! Air con worked well and the beds were comfy with clean sheets. That's about it. The location is great for the old town, which is what we were looking for for a couple of nights. The bar/reception staff were friendly enough, but breakfast staff needed a little more persuation! Breakfast basic, like the hotel itself. Nice place to sit out and watch the world go by! Good value if you're on a budget and want to be in the thick of the old town.
