It's an older lodge which probably fills in winter for the skiing season. It's rather dark and dated but clean. Breakfast was uninteresting. Staff was almost invisible. We waiting around for about 30 minutes before anyone presented themselves to register us. Not very inviting; almost spooky.

I really wish I had read further down other reviews before I booked this hotel (and paid in advance for the room for 2 nights). When we arrived, there was no proper reception or welcome. The owner's elderly mother was there: she was very charming, but was clearly not expecting us, and we thought our booking had not been received....

We spend a wonderful weekend at the New Helvetia in Platres. Great atmosphere, very clean and warm rooms, a unique Bar with fireplace. For dinner we stayed in the hotel and we enjoyed very tastefully local dishes. No need to go out and looking for a restaurant. On Sunday morning we enjoyed a traditional "Cyprus Breakfast" . Friendly staff. A...

A lovely hotel set within stunning scenery. A short walk from the village of platres with several bars and tavernas. Very quiet this time of year........I think we were one of two couples staying there. The proprietor, George, was the perfect host. We spent much time drinking red wine at the bar and talking to him and a friend of...

This is by far the friendliest hotel I have stayed in while touring Cyprus. The owner also gave fantastic advice for where to eat and visit in the Platres area. The hotel feels like a family home, so I will definitely stay here next time I visit the area! Just don't expect a clinical Best-western type hotel when you visit...

An excellent hotel surrounded by pine trees! Feels like home! Excellent service and an enjoyable breakfast! Good vibes, fresh air with amazing view of the nature. Only 20 minutes away from Limassol. The best place to be for a short break from the daily routine! :)

A place i wouldn't recommend and do not want to visit again. The room had no bar, no fan (yes ! it's needed during mid-day), we could not get wifi (the router was probably too far away), two times around midnight pipes or something started to make sound and woke us up, no telephone, the tv was either not programmed...
