My husband booked a trip to this outstanding hotel in Montecarlo for my 50th birthday. It’s outstanding because of the location, the entrance, the welcome we received by the lovely helpful Rachel, the room with a sea view, the surprise birthday cake brought to my room, the hard working concierge, the breakfast, the pool area but most of all the incredible, attentive, polite, friendly and helpful staff who were all an amazing team that ensured we wanted for nothing. I have never experienced service like it. The staff thought of things you didn’t even know that you needed. The swimming pool was designed by Karl Lagerfeld and was magnificently stunning with real Swarovski crystals fixed into the bottom of the pool. The sun beds are the biggest and comfiest I’ve ever experienced. You may think that guests at this hotel could be rather ‘high and night’ but we talked to a lot of really wonderful and interesting people around the pool. There was no pretentiousness in sight. The concierge team worked tirelessly organising restaurant and taxi bookings etc to ensure everyone made the most of your holiday. This really was one of the most special holidays of a lifetime and this hotel definitely contributed to the reason why. Finally I need to add that the hotels location is a two minute walk to the Casino which is swarming with onlookers and premium cars. The casino is a must to visit if only to people watch. I always feel sad when it’s time to travel home after a holiday but on this occasion I actually cried. Thank you to all the staff for helping my husband and I have the holiday of a lifetime. xxx

The insiders do know very well, that the Hotel Metropole is considered as the "best hotel" in Monte Carlo. The service is flawless, charming and the staff does its very best to keep you content and happy. I am a pool person; therefore this absolutely adorable sea water pool with its soothing background music is exactly my taste. The spa is on a level of sophistication you won't easily find somewhere else. What do you expect from a luxury hotel? You want to feel at home and pampered, you want to enjoy great cuisine, an outstanding service, a cozy room, a fast room cleaning service (you return from your breakfast and the room has been done - just like magic!). As a frequent summer time traveller to Monaco this was my first time to go there for Christmas - and I loved it! The Metropole will stay on my travel list, it puts you into a different bubble of energy and I will return for sure.

We stayed one night at the Metropole on our honeymoon in France and it is a phenomenal property. Our room, while a standard one, was beautiful, and the service impeccable. We happened to be there during the Monaco Super Yacht Show but despite the crowds in the city the hotel never felt overwhelmed or chaotic. In fact, the staff kindly sent us a bottle of wine with some snacks to celebrate our occasion and also gave us complimentary passes to the Casino down the street. We were lucky to eat at the last night of the pop up outdoor restaurant Zia adjacent to the Odyssey restaurant, which was a fantastic meal (thanks to Chefs Rocco & Manon for visiting with us!).
The Metropole's style shows in its Belle Epoque architectural detail, prominent location, and modern yet tasteful lux appointments. Hopefully we'll be fortunate enough to return in the future!

From arriving with a very refreshing fruit welcome drink, to leaving with a Menton lemon cake under your arm - everything was magical!
The Spa, by Givenchy, is a haven of peace in which you can only relax! The 60' “Customized” treatment ending with a little facial cryotherapy is simply divine - we would have asked for another 5 minutes!
The welcome in your room with a personalized note and a bottle in collaboration with Moet make you feel more than welcome in this renowned establishment!
The highlight of the show remains in the gourmet restaurant “Les Ambassadeurs - By Christophe Cussac”! Gastronomic and elegant bites, made with noble and local products!

This hotel I believe is a true 5-star hotel for the services it provides to its guests. I stayed one night in a Deluxe room (Free Upgrade) and I must say I was impressed with the service it offers. You check in not at the counter but comfortably seated on a couch where you are also offered a drink. Afterwards another employee of the hotel escorts you to your room and explains everything you need to know about the hotel's services. The room very spacious with a nice bathroom, sincerely the furniture is starting to show time passing...a renovation of the rooms would be necessary as soon as possible... The bathroom on the other hand I think has already been renovated (excellent products of Ferragamo). The lobby was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The breakfast with a choice of very fresh products prepared by the hotel's bakers/bakers. Let's say for the room I would not have given a full rating but the services and courtesy of the staff (and the attention to the customer) make me rate this hotel 5 stars. Highly recommended!!!

A Palace with exceptional good taste in everything, from forniture details to the help given to people who choose to stay here. One perceives the unique atmosphere as soon as he/she gets in: the lights are kept low so as to allow relax; the perfume pervades the whole area like a sweet caress and the whole staff are just there to share in your joy at this unique experience with their knowledge on how to make a guest feel very Welcome. As to the room,not even King Louis XIV could have a more perfect bed and the same could be said of the pillows. The room although in the classical style, had all the contemporary comforts that we need such as hugeTV ,Bath tub and shower with perfect water temperature.I loved to explore the halls looking at valuable details of historical importance: armchairs and the paintings of Princes that made the Principality history centuries ago along with lamps and tables of value. I mainly only get around to reviewing fantastic hotels or those few that have been awful and compared the amount of those visited, we review comparatively few. I posted a review following our stay but I just can’t find it… so here I go again, as the incredible staff at this beautiful hotel need to be applauded, as do the owners. I guess I forgot in which case apologies.
We previously had a suite at the hotel a few years ago and the Metropol is better than ever. For us, it is all about the people, the ladies and gentlemen who provide such exceptional service.
Firstly, I have been fortunate to encounter some great Concierge services over the years, quite a few have equalled the incredible standards at the Metropole but none could exceed it. While in Monte Carlo, a restaurant which I won’t name (it would be unfair given they finally managed an unexpected service recovery, albeit after quite an argument), told us, after we had already been seated, that there was a (huge) charge minimum charge however, they have not mentioned this when the concierge had made the booking. I told him this and they didn’t believe me.
The minimum charge was relatively way more than one would expect to pay when ordering an already expensive three course, dinner, however, as we were already seated, we dealt with it by ordering an expensive bottle of vintage champagne. We did that because there was no chance of us managing to reach anywhere near the minimum spend without doing that. The champagne arrived, it was opened and served, only after which our waiter told us that the minimum charge did not include expenditure on wines. At this point, I emailed our hotel concierge and he swiftly emailed me a very full and detailed confirmation of exactly what he had been told when he made our Reservation…and more importantly, what he had not been told. He then contacted the restaurant and while I have no idea was said, the restaurant management apologised and told us there would be no charge for dinner.
This is just one example of the reliabilty and support from the concierge at the Metropole.
Dining and relaxing by the pool was a huge pleasure with the most wonderful service. We loved breakfasts and dining at the hotel and although we were only there for a few days we were constantly greeted by name wherever we went.
Everything about the hotel is a delight. We are back in Monte Carlo in March 2024 and I would have loved to return to the Metropole, however a member of our family has particularly asked to stay at the Hotel de Paris, where I have never stayed before and that is the only reason we are not returning to the Metropole this coming visit.
I have read some great reviews but also a few that I just don’t recognise based on our wonderful experiences at this incredible hotel which totally deliver. I found all of the ladies and gentlemen of the hotel absolutely delightful, we felt cosseted, well looked after and at home. The location of the Metropole is superb and I couldn’t recommend it more.
