Already on our arrival we were warmly welcomed, refreshed and a very helpful receptionist explained in detail the what/how/where, guided us through the magnificent hotel, which is spread over several interconnected building wings, so that we could also admire the magnificent Belle-Epoque architecture or the dome designed by Gustave Eiffel above the breakfast gallery extensively.
The rooms are equipped with powerful and easily adjustable air conditioning, really efficient. Very comfortable beds, high ceilings, marble bathroom and fine Aqua di Parma toiletries.
Large selection at breakfast, charming and generous housekeeping and a top class concierge team. For example, we had some confusion regarding the helicopter transfer to Nice (which is offered in Monaco by a company based there every half hour), needed Help center with restaurant choice, Reservation or in matters of beach club (included) with transfer free of charge from hotel every 20min. With everything, the always friendly, cheerful, prudent and very effective concierges were worth gold. All tips hit the mark, everything went like clockwork and was done quietly and effectively.
Employees all over the house deserve great praise.
We would love to come back to this princely Grand Hotel.

There are many positive aspects.
- The structure particularly struck me, it is warm, welcoming and elegant in every detail. The Hotel is in fact very beautiful and furnished in style, I would say very chic! My spacious room, in shades of dove gray carefully combined with those of petrol, and the shades of white marble in the bathroom made my stay very pleasant and relaxing. The whole hotel, as a whole, is well-kept and elegant.
- The staff was very kind, professional and always available.
- The location is excellent, right in the center a stone's throw from the casino.
However, some aspects need to be improved:
- the majesty and tortuosity of the structure with no or few route indications makes moving around inside it unpleasant. You often get lost inside and have difficulty reaching your room. It's also difficult to get to the pool area and it's embarrassing to get out of the pool and go to the changing rooms via a shop.
- The breakfast, although full of options, is not very attentive to those suffering from intolerances. Several times some products reported lactose-free, after my explicit request, were not. Alternatively it was not possible to have any lactose-free product. In any case, it definitely deserves full marks.

This was our fifth stay at The Hermitage and the best yet. Everything about the hotel is excellent, the rooms, the view and the very helpful staff.

My wife had recently had a foot operation so had to travel in a wheelchair, but this presented no problem at all. We had booked a junior suite, but were upgraded (free of charge) to a room with a large terrace so my wife could sit outside and enjoy the good weather. The staff were excellent at every level.

We will, without a doubt, visit The Hermitage again. Other hotels would be wise to note that if you look after your guests, they will visit again!

I am rating the hotel Hermitage based on location, room, facilities and staff.

Location: the location of the hotel is beautiful and very close to the shopping area and Casino, which we love (not as close as hotel due Paris though)

Room: while the room seems luxurious at first, it was a bit disappointing. First, the photo during booking showed an amazing terrace. Sadly we did not even have a balcony. I hope that they would include photos of the actual rooms and not the best rooms that they have, which are usually given to certain clients (I will mention the special treatment we noticed that some guests got later). The room needs an update / maintenance as the curtains did not operate with ease and always allowed light in the morning. Also, you would expect actual porcelain cups for the in-room coffee machine but they only had paper cups. I am guessing this is to speed up the cleaning of the rooms but this hotel takes pride in being the second most luxurious hotel in Monaco. The room was located in the far / old section of the hotel where we had to take an elevator and climb a stair to get to the lobby, which was a bit of an inconvenience with my sore ankle. Finally, and I know this is not big (but it does affect the brand) the slippers seemed really cheap and looked like something you would get at a 3 or 4 star hotel.

Facilities: we only used the pool and it is beautiful and warm. Unfortunately due to the location of our room, we had to walk through almost the entire hotel and through the lobby restaurant to access it.

Staff: overall, the staff were extremely nice and helpful. We did notice some special treatment to some guests when it comes to table reservation at the lobby restaurant (Limun) where the best tables are reserved (we were never told that we can reserve tables when we checked in) and we were always seated in the back area. We stood for a long time to check-in because the family in front of us were talking to 3 staff at the same to give them their keys. The bellmen were amazing. The breakfast staff were very tentative though the tended to clear tables quickly without waiting to see if we were coming back or not. Upon our departure, I asked for a new My Monte Carlo card and one of the staff at the reception printed the “Member” level card without checking my status, which is sliver; this was promptly corrected by another helpful member of the staff. I know this is not major but it did add to the overall experience.

The concierge staff are amazing and really held the brand of the hotel in high regards.

Now the big question, would we stay here again?? Sadly no as we previously had a phenomenal experience at the hotel de Paris and we will probably go back there on our next visit due to the service and luxurious rooms. I hope the Management at Hotel Hermitage take our comments in consideration for the sake of other guests.

This hotel has splendid architecture and our room was comfortable and in keeping wiith the rest of the hotel although some of the furniture was very tired. Some of the service left a bit to be desired - we had lunch in the bar when we arrived and it took 20 minutes for someone to take our order and when we came to pay the bill the three serving staff had vanished and didn't appear for a further 10 minutes. In the end I had to walk to the other end of the bar and request the bill before they disappeared again. When you're being charged €100 for 3 club sandwiches you expect better. It was a similar story in the evening - we got drinks but when we came to pay we had to wait 10 minutes for any staff to appear.
It was also irritating that the rear entrance to the hotel is locked at 11 pm so if you are in a room at the far end of the hotel and want a cigarette it's a 100 metre walk each way too exit the hotel via the main entrance. This is 2024, not 1924 so put a key card entry system on the rear entrance like every other hotel in the world.
On the plus side, the bed was comfortable, the room was quiet and I slept well. The breakfast was very good and service was impeccable (mind you at €50 for breakfast it should be good). On balance though given the relatively high cost I would not stay here again.

I would like to give this hotel a higher rate but couldn't. Well, let's start with the check-in moment, we were not offered a glass of champagne or at least a glass of water in a 5 star hotel in the heart of Monte Carlo.
The rooms are decorated in belle Epoque style with small bathrooms, or probably they gave us this kind of room, because when I booked the room it shoed me bigger bathroom.
Breakfast is for extra money 50€ per person, nothing special but okay.
The hotel itself is old, and you are feeling this from the first as you enter it, it is not a bad fact when you want to feel an authentic French-style with a vibe.
Their Michelin restaurant didn't surprise us at all, high prices but didn't worth as the food was okay. I think that such hotel with a well-known name doesn't want to invest in quality, as if you pay and enjoy it without hesitation.
Just remembered, they didn't refill water in room, what a moment I didn't understand. I have stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels, famous ones like Belmond, Kempinski, Rosewood, and all of them would refill daily. French hotels are always disappointing me!

My parents and I stayed at legendary hotel Hermitage that trully lives up to its reputation! We were accommodated in two lavishly appointed deluxe rooms overlooking harbour and Pavyllon restaurant (thank you Agnes for great check-in experience). All are expectations were met regarding room preferences and we even got a birthday cake and bottle of champagne as my parents were celebrating their birthdays. What a treat!🎂🍾 Hotel itself is beautiful with wonderful facilities, sun deck and indoor pool as well as complimentary access to wonderful Monte Carlo beach, excellent qym and beautiful restaurant. Our dinner at Pavyllon by Yannick Alleno was beyond words. We also liked Le Limun bar and Crystal lounge in the evening. All members of staff are so cordial and sweet and you feel truly pampered. From front desk staff, to reception, housekeeping, staff at breakfast in magnificent Gustav Eiffel Mezzanine to concierges, they always go far and beyond to meet all your expectations. Special thanks goes to concierge Martin who was very helpful with restaurant recomendations and last minute bookings! We will certainly reccommend this beautiful hotel gem to our travel agent, friends and colleagues. We are already very much looking forward to our future stays in this wonderful property!😊😊😊

Its a beautiful property with a lot of history. The staff at reception and concierge are great and always ready with solutions with a smile.
However the door staff most of the times will ignore/not even offer to open the door even if you're with a kid in a stroller.

The housekeeping staff do a really good job, but they entered our room twice once at 9pm and once at 10pm when we were asleep. I think they were trying to make the room but it's a bit late for that I guess.

Restaurant staff is not so accomodating for young kids (toddler), generally we were never received with a smile or any accommodation for the yound ones (except occasional frowns)
Overall it's a great stay, however some misses as above which I hope they can improve. Not in our best stay experiences.

This hotel is in a great location. The room was large, the bed was comfy. There was plenty of hot water. The staff making up the rooms were numerous, prompt, thorough and friendly. These are things I appreciate but could say about lots of decent hotels. I was expecting something more.

Yes the hotel has lots of molded ceilings and a bit designed by Albert Eiffel. But I’m not sure that alone merits the price tag.

Staff weren’t warm or accommodating, breakfast was a shambles with no vegan options - I literally got told abruptly after inquiring with several waiters that they could not accommodate a vegan. When I protested I was told they might be able to find me a carrot. Bizarre.. I didn’t take up the offer and instead left a hotel where my room was 1,650 euro a night and found an accommodating little cafe that made me avocado toast with a smile for the princely sum of 12 euros. I’m amazed the Hotel Hermitage can’t feed a vegan breakfast (and thinks I might want a carrot).

The hotel is vast and maze-like - so much so even staff sent me the wrong way to my room.

The pool is big but the loungers are almost in the water as there is no space for them around it. Staff are noisily watching videos on their phone under a sign saying to turn of your phone while I type this review.

Service makes a hotel memorable but this hotel seems to have forgotten to go the extra mile. I’m left wondering if anyone stays twice.

We have been visiting for 15 years and always looked forward to dining in the Limon Bar. Unfortunately this seems to have changed and now you need to book, they’ve stopped serving milkshakes which our kids have enjoyed in recent years. Very disappointing.
