The hotel offers a wonderful setting such as the beach with sun loungers and umbrellas, which has a bar restaurant and is very beautiful and enjoyable (it is a small bay that looks like a postcard) and then there are the pool and the Spa. I was also amazed by the employees: they are really numerous and always present and smiling so much so that you have the perception of always being pampered and revered. The clientele is very distinguished and, although there are some families with children, you never hear noises or squawks. The rooms are large enough, comfortable and of good design, the bathroom (not very large) is tidy, also equipped with bidet. Also the location is convenient, it is located near the Larvotto, area with several beaches and nice and famous clubs. Particularly convenient is the bus stop “Larvotto-Meridien” located right in front of the hotel: with 2 euros and a few stops leads to the Casino Square; With 20 euros and about 50 minutes directly to Nice airport. I found everything to enjoy in telax, we would stay there again! Grazie Le Meridien!

The breakfast at the hotel is excellent - a wide choice including some amazing pastries. You can choose to eat breakfast in the restaurant or in the terrace. As the weather was stunning we sat on the terrace every day and it was lovely. We were entertained by the resident seagull who hovered for scraps from breakfast, but we did hear one guest saying that the gull had grabbed food from his hand, so some caution may need to be exercised.
The pool area is very nice and we had no problem getting a sun lounger whoever we wanted it. The hotel provides two very large pool towels for anyone using the pool or beach, which was generous and valuable. The sun loungers are a little dated these days and weren’t terribly comfortable - they only had two positions , neither of which were comfortable for reading a book. But it is a minor quibble.
We never ate in the hotel as the beach restaurants which are a two minute walk away have much greater choice and also offered something closer to a budget menu. The hotel promote the restaurant as something special, but it is expensive.
We love the location of this hotel. It is out of the centre of Monaco, but we enjoy the walk along Larvotto beach and through the Japanese garden towards the centre. It takes us 15 minutes to walk to Casino Square using the lift opposite the Forum to reach the higher street level. It is probably 30 minutes to the station, but we enjoy walking around the whole principality so it isn’t really an issue.
We will most probably return to stay here again

This year we had cold or boiling water during the week of August 12 and the air conditioner was still leaking water.
On 20 August, electricity was cut for 5 hours, causing many inconveniences, including a 10-storey climb without emergency lighting, etc.
All this time we were mistreated for no reason by your hostess Kelly at breakfast every morning who laughed at us after a week of stay and let through who she wanted, she always asked for our room number arrogantly. This girl has serious problems, she must be controlled by snapping her heels and wearing sunglasses while working, and she discriminates against people who do not speak her language.
Fortunately we breathed on 21 and 22 August with 2 hostesses who were polite while walking and very kind.
We thank
Joaquine, Thierry and Josue' C. from the reception very nice.
The wonderful Artemisia , Alberto, Luciano , Nicolas and all the boys and girls on the beach at breakfast and lunch , the 2 hostesses on duty on 21 and 22 August and the fantastic cleaners.

Lousy, to avoid! A promising but aging setting, a restaurant, La Muse, with swimming pools and private beach. The promise of free access to the swimming pool for any lunch at the restaurant which suddenly disappears after several hundred euros of addition and the purchase of a swimsuit at the hotel boutique. A director who doesn't want to hear anything and blames his own employees.... A bill inflated by the astronomical price of marked-down bottles of water; in short, a very bad customer experience which definitely convinced us not to book in this hotel which, on paper, is a direct competitor to the one we usually go to in Monaco.

Price per day of 65€/person in a medium/coarse sandy beach. Located in a basin practically no air passes and the day at the beach is tiring. There is also access to the indoor and outdoor pool of the hotel as well as the gym (the only thing I loved! with air conditioning and Technogym equipment of the latest level). Beach staff at the reception desk quite opinionated. Very expensive beach bar: a pina colada 32€, a simple poke about 30€, a 500 ml bottle of water 5€.... very high prices not compensated by a level of service.
NOTE: at all other private beaches in Monaco, the price of admission also includes water and/or drinks. Here with 65€/head nothing of anything.
The bathroom has a very small shower take away the tub and enlarge the shower
More than a four it seems like a three star
The staff were very competent and courteous apart from the one at the entrance
Pretty good food
fair price being Monte Carlo
Strong point Pools and private beach
Overall the opinion, even with some flaws, remains positive

Although we were on a business trip it was also our wedding anniversary, having organised a cake with the hotel 2 weeks prior to arrival I was surprised to find out that the restaurant manager claimed to know nothing about it even though his reservation sheet had ‘gateaux’ written next to our name!
New coffee machines in the hotel and no coffee pods to go in them.
I asked 3 times for hard/firmer pillows for the room only to be sent more soft pillows each time!
We went to hire a kayak from the pier on the private beach and the staff said it was included in the hotel costs as far as they knew, it wasn’t!
To top things off the last morning there was no hot water either!
No dressing table with mirror for my wife to get ready at.
The rooms are very basic.
When we checked out we weren’t even asked how our stay was, we were just dismissed!
It may not be one of the more expensive hotels in Monte Carlo but still we paid €700 per night and being in the hospitality industry myself I expected more. Also they may not be very big problems in general but with so many it really did make what should have been a lovely stay very disappointing.
We are due to go back in a few months and I will NOT being staying here again.
The person I spoke with at the hotel prior to booking the Horizon suite confirmed that it would. If they had said no (as did another hotel for one of their suites) I would have booked 2 rooms (which I did for the other hotel). So I booked the Horizon suite and put in just the number of adults in the party - this is because the online system would not allow me to book the room putting in two adults and 3 kids for this suite. I was comfortable doing this since the hotel employee had confirned to me that the suite would be able to accommodate us.
Fast forward a few weeks and we arrive at the hotel to be met with a stern check in person named Valentina who curtly told us that we could not check in with our kids. The booking was only for 2 adults and she would not be able to let the kids in the hotel. We were just stunned at the language and tone used by Valentina. We pleaded and she stepped inside the back office to see what she could do. She came and told us we could take the room if we paid and additional €65 a night. Mind you this is a room that had a rate of €1700+ a night.
Given that we were there and didnt have another hotel close by that we could go to we took accepted the additional charge. But more than the additional charge what really stuck out for us was the way Valentina berated and talked down to us. We at least expected a smile, a hello and pleasant check in. The €65 additional charge is less of an issue for someone who is paying €1700+ for the toom as long as you are nice and pleasant.
We cut our stay short and left earlier than planned. On the day we were supposed to check out (we had indicated we would be checking out around noon) a security person showed up at our door promptly at 12 noon just as we were about to head down. As platinum member with Marriott I usually get a few minutes grace to check out. Never have had security sent up exactly at noon.
The front desk staff at check out was more diverse and courteous and was shocked to hear the treatment meted out to us by Valentina. We spoke to the supervisor at that time and he listened to us patiently but didnt say he would do anything about it.
We had several other minor instances of poor treatment here at the time of departure (eg bellmen ignoring us and not offering any help in loading our car, parking person berating us to move when a taxi was blocking us in front etc.) and in the restuarants (more egregious that the departure ones) that I dont want to take away from the main message of how we were spoken to and treated by Valentina.
This ranks as the absolute worst front desk experience for me in my 2000+ nights of hotel stays over the years. But looking back perhaps this hotel has a culture of poor service. Maybe they want to cater to a specific demographic and discourage others? I dont want to generalize but do wonder.
"After 1 mediocre breakfast, we ate out the rest of our stay. Design rooms are without terrace and use the Note Blue beach - great food!"Read full review
