Haus Sartein is located right near the Hallsater See with a lovely small green beach here. The family that have this nice pension are wonderful and very helpful. Rooms are very clean and the view from the balcony was amazing -moutains & lake view. I would recvomand from all my heart this accomodation.
We stayed in the apartment on the top floor of Pension Sarstein and really couldn’t fault it. The apartment was cosy and extremely clean. It had everything we needed for a great stay. We chose the apartment option as it allowed us to save money by cooking our own meals. The balcony view of the lake and mountains was incredible with a lovely little table and chairs, enabling us to create our own little private lakeside restaurant every evening. This hotel is in an ideal location, about a 10/15 minute walk through the beautiful streets of central Hallstatt to the main Hallstatt Lahn bus station or local supermarket. The hotel is also situated right next to the lake, complete with it’s own diving boards and garden area where you can paddle your feet. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. They gave us information about the local area and allowed us to hire a couple of bikes completely free of charge. We thought this hotel was great value for money and a perfect choice for anyone planning a visit to Hallstatt. …
We’ve stayed all throughout the Alps. This was a nice change of pace. The accommodations where fairly basic. Very clean and well maintained property. The view of the lake from the balcony was breathtaking and peaceful. The owners were extremely flexible and pleasant. The Swan nesting in the yard was a plus for my wife, a bird lover.
We stayed at Pension Sarstein for a week in one of the apartments. Klaus and Isabelle Fischer, the owners and hosts, were incredibly friendly and helpful. They helped us plan our week to get the most out of our visit. The pension is spotlessly clean, recently updated with new kitchens and bathrooms, and the view from our balcony across the lake was breathtaking. We cooked many of our meals so we could enjoy them on our balcony. The bedroom was spacious with plenty of space to store luggage and belongings (not a common amenity in many hotels). The location is perfect; a quick walk from the town center means that you can enjoy the bustle if you want to but can escape to a quiet, waterfront lawn if you want to get away from the throng of daytime tourists. Hallstatt is VERY popular with tour bus groups so we planned our days to enjoy other places and enjoyed the peace and quiet of Hallstatt when the busses were gone. We will return to Hallstatt and Pension Sarstein for a relaxing, scenic trip - hopefully, in the near future!…
We really enjoyed our stay here. There are two great things about Pension Sarstein: firstly the hosts Isabelle and Klaus who are friendly helpful and welcoming; and secondly the amazing location right on the lake. We booked a double en suite room which had a table and 2 chairs and a sofa as well as the bed in a large room, plus a balcony. It's homely and simple rather than flashy but was perfect for us. Access to a fridge and crockery etc, plus laundry service was available for a fee. Perfect location to explore the local area.
My partner and I stayed in Halstatt (sadly) for just one night on a trip through the region. We both decided this is where we are going to return to for our honeymoon one day. The owners were so nice. The place was so relaxed, clean, inviting, and the views were amazing. Perfectly situated in town and yet right on the lake. I will definitely come back to this town and this place. Don't change a thing, Pension Sarstein! You've got a great thing going.
My wife and I stay here for 3 nights in mid-June; you can easily pick it out as you cross on the ferry. It was just a short walk from the boat landing but there is a slight hill or two on the way. We were greeted by Isabelle on our arrival and shown to our room and given a tour of the common areas. There is a breakfast room with kettle and fridge available to guests at all times, in addition, there is a nice lakeside lawn with tables, chairs and loungers, plus 2 diving boards for the really brave (lake is quite cold). Our room was large with a queen bed, closet, dresser/TV stand, luggage stand, two end tables, addition coat hooks and dining table with banquet benches; in addition, it had a long narrow balcony overlooking the lake with a covered area as well. Of course, there was full ensuite with shower and an additional single bed room which we did not use. We could have comfortably stayed there for a week or so. Our host gave us keys for both our room and the outside door so we could come and go as we liked. Of note, we were asked not to do our own laundry in the sink due to water conservation and Isabelle will do any clothing for 1 Euro/km. The only disappointment was that the breakfast was a little short in selection. Overall, we would happy return to Pension Sarstein and especially Hallstatt if at all possible in the future.…
My college age daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights in May. It was a wonderful experience! The rooms had million $ views! So comfy and cozy! Accommodations were wonderful and we had everything we needed. The wifi was super fast which helped in planning and coordinating other things. It was easy to get to from the ferry. You do have to pull your luggage up a bit of hill, but that is part of the experience of being in such a beautiful place. Isabella went out of her way to help us multiple times, even mailing a ring that we left in our room. Paul, whose family has owned this hotel for hundreds of years, served us a delightful breakfast. Loved this place and I hope to get back one day!!!
My Friends and I stayed here only for one night, but it was great! The hosts were super nice and helpful. You have a gorgeous view from the rooms and it's directs at the lake! Additionally, there is a good price/performance ratio! We'll definitely come visit again soon!
While the parking arrangements left me a little cautious, the hotel itself is spectacular. Great service and location. The setup of the town of Hallstatt is absolutely bizarre but appears to work well. Stayed on a Sunday and not much open after 6 but that isn't the hotels fault.
