50 minutes drive from both main airports. The taxi service "Hotel Der Sailer" recommended was efficient and reasonable. The hotel itself, is clean, comfortable and offers a lot for the rating. I really couldn't find fault with it. All of the staff and the owners are friendly and helpful. Not everyone speaks English so that is always a challenge but...

1 week skiing in Feb in Obertauern. Booked hotel direct on website. Comms very good from the start. Room in the top floor with view of the mountains and Gamsleiten I opposite, so less than a 5 mins walk to the base of one of the main lifts. Also round the corner from a couple of the main bars. Staff...

Dined here last night as many of the non-hotel restaurants were full (Book ahead if you're coming to Obertauern!) Food and service were good I had a fillet steak, which was good quality, although the accompanying jacket potato was a little underwhelming My friend had an "American" steak which was very good Drank an excellent local red too One word...

This is a lovely hotel, nothing too fancy but perfect for our family and our week of skiing. I found the food very nice, but my wife who is vegetarian found it a little uninspiring for her tastes. There is a great new sauna area downstairs that was just the ticket for warming up after the freezing cold days. The...

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend in March 2014, we booked a mid-range room with a small sitting area on a half board basis. It was 84 euros a night each which we thought was excellent value for what we got. Firstly the place is very friendly, nothing is too much bother for the staff and family....

A very friendly greeting met me as I arrived. This is a family hotel that has been here for 40 years. The car park is very useful given that the hotel is at the exact centre if Obertauern. A ski lift is directly opposite. Everything is perfectly in order in this lovely hotel - I would definitely stay here again.

Der Sailer well deserves its ranking as the #1 B&B/Inn in Obertauern. During ski season it is usually well booked in advance, all the way through March. That says a lot for a hotel in a ski-area that has a supply of 8,000 beds. We stayed for four nights in mid January and had a wonderful time. Der Sailer is...

“We were in the attic - room adequate size with Austrian bed and table and shower room. Small balcony. Pay more and you'll get a bigger room!”
