First of all, we called and emailed management several times before arriving to confirm our stay at the hotel. We wanted to request an early check in so we could drop our luggage off in our room before heading out to explore the city. We heard no response from the staff, and upon arrival we were unsure if we even...

What a treat! We really enjoyed our stay at the Von Trapp House. Our host was very helpful. He showed us that we could see Hitler's 'The Eagle's Nest,' from his office window. Also, he outlined a drive for us when we left. The views were awesome! We wouldn't have taken this route if he had not taken the time...

Whether you're a Sound of Music fan or not, this is a gorgeous house with wonderful accommodations and friendly staff. If you are a Sound of Music fan, this place is perfect for you! Has tons of the original history and I love staying in the house the family actually lived in!

The mansion is beautiful and the rooms are beautiful. We stayed in the Sound of Music room which is 700 Sq ft and has a view on onto the yard. 4-post bed, lovely windows, and armchairs complete the ambience. While the movie wasn't filmed at the house, if you like the movie you'll have the opportunity to see original photos...

We stayed in the historic Villa Trapp on our recent tour of Europe. The home is lovely and we were upgraded to an enormous suite with a beautiful claw foot tub! The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was ample and delicious. The location was out of the city just a few minutes and was quiet and peaceful, almost park...

It was nice to stay for a day at the Trapp family house. The service that we get from the front office lady was perfect, she told us almost anything about the city with maps etc. We drove by car from Wien, but the Villa itself is a bit far from the center but there is a bus stop nearby....

As transplanted locals, wouldn't usually book such a touristy place, but it was available and walking distance to a restaurant we wanted to try. The villa is quaint, creaky and suitably historic, but strangely lacking in ambience or warmth--felt like a museum more than an hotel. But staff are very welcoming and accommodating and this made up for a lot--our...

We booked in advance as my wife had been wanting to stay there for a while. We've been to Salzburg a few times before and staying in city center is more convenient...but staying here once was cool. It was around 250 for the family suite, great size, 2 rooms for us and kids, not including the 12 euro pp breakfast....

The hotel is lovely and well maintained. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Verena checked me in, recommended restaurants, gave me a tour of the villa, booked my tours and made me feel right at home. I would highly recommend staying here not only for the historic aspect but for an authentic Salzburg experience. Staying at the villa was...

We stayed at the Villa Trapp for 2 nights. The service by the staff was excellent and the hotel has a very homely feel. Rooms were nice and spacious. Inside the house was quite dark though (no windows on the top floor until you get inside your room)- but this wasn't really an issue. There was a TV in our...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Villa Trapp was the residence of the world-famous Von Trapp family, whose life in Salzburg entered history as "The Sound of Music", the most popular musical of all times. The villa is maintained in the style of this period, including 2 luxurious, 60 m² suites. They are exclusively furnished. In the past the Villa Trapp was not accessible to the public. Now you can sleep in the family's rooms and walk on their paths through the villa and the park. This stately building enjoys a quiet location close to the centre of Salzburg, surrounded by the city's largest private park. ... more   less
