I thoroughly enjoyed my 5 night stay in Salzburg at Pension Alderhof. I had a single room that was very clean, spacious and offered a bathroom which did the job. The staff were really friendly and offered advice on activities and tours in Salzburg. Breakfast was also included which comprised of a buffet style breakfast with enough variety. The hotel... More

If this were not within 2 blocks of the train station, no one would choose to stay here. The neighborhood is terrible (2 "exotic" shops within a blocks) and the hotel itself looks a bit decrepit from the outside. Inside is okay, but our "quad" room was the smallest I have ever seen outside of Tokyo (and we've been to... More

The staff in hotel pension Adlerhof were very helpful and always took the initiative to help their guests. When we arrived in the morning at 5am because of the night train from Venice, they received us immediately and got the room done up by 8am for us to rest in it. Couldn't be more appreciative of what they did back... More

Stay during 27 to 29 mar15. Booked 2 rooms and got one at ground level and one at level 1. The room at ground level which was behind the reception was in a bad shape as the water drain pipe was choke and smelly. Managed to change the room the next day but it was a torture for my friend... More

I spent a few days in Salzburg during Christmas and stayed at this pension for 2 nights. The location is convenient as it's pretty close to the HBF. It takes around 10 mins to walk to the old town though. The staff was helpful. The dining area of this pension was full of Christmas decoration and it's so festive. The... More

We spent four nights in this hotel. On arrival we were greeted by Mark who checked us in and then provided a map and thorough explanations to the best way to get around Salzburg. The hotel also sells the Salzburg card and staff explain how to get the best use from this. Although the hotel is outside the old town... More

We had a wonderful stay at this very friendly hotel. Clean rooms and since it was a little further from downtown, it seemed to be a little cheaper. We were able to walk downtown the couple nights we stayed there. Wonderful breakfast served.

The Hotel Alderhof far exceeded our expectations. My husband and I spent two nights in Salzburg after Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. When we arrived on the day after Christmas, they had recommendations of restaurants that would still be open for us to have a nice Christmas dinner. The hotel... More

We were only able to spend a day and a half (with one overnight) in Salzburg and the Alderhof met our every need. We were a party of 4 and the Alderhof was only a short 5 min. walk from the train station, so no need to gt a taxi or bus. The Alderhof is an older pension, but we... More

“Our room, number 3, was pretty quiet. We would occasionally hear the door to the outside close as guests came and went. It might be a good idea to ask for a room away from the main exit if you are staying during a busier travel time. Although, I'm a light sleeper and it never kept me up.”
