Had a lovely stay here! The city is just a quick 15 min walk or elevator ride away, but your stay is situatied in a peaceful, quiet location. The rooms are basic and simple, but very clean. Others have comment on challenges with the wiffii, but we did not experience any challenges with the wifii on our 2 night stay....

I found this place on Google maps, looking for a place our friend remembered from about 30 years ago...this wasn't it, but it was a great replacement, maybe even better!! The castle is completely enclosed, so you ring a bell at the entrance gate to get in and then you have your key for letting yourself in and out. The...

This is the second time our large group has stayed here. It is perfect because it is private and remote and peaceful yet the city is a 15 minute walk away. You do have to hike up and down the giant hill/cliff or pay 2 euros to take the elevator at the art museum nearby. The rooms vary quite a...

If you are a nature lover who have strayed into Salzburg, this hotel will rescue you. At this hotel you are very close to the old town and all the attractions, yet fare away from all the noise. I can really recommend this hotel and the prices are very fair.

This place is extremely peaceful and has some serious history behind it as well. The room we had was clean and comfortable, but pretty basic. Wifi was pretty spotty but the surroundings are so nice that you don't spend too much time in the room anyway. The gardens are definitely a plus and the breakfast was good too. If you...

In the middle of the buzzling city high up on a rock there is a an alternative to the usual suspects. If you can live without (proper) wifi and TV in the room this convent is more than worthwhile. Very quiet situation and ok breakfast. It is within walking distance from the city centre but mind you, the sign posts...

Amazing location on the mountain - feels like you enter a castle. Stunning grounds and views. The rooms are very basic and dated - no TV etc - but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was also basic, but good. Very friendly staff and amazing atmosphere. Affordable.

Booked via email directly with accommodation. Went very smoothly and correspondent also provided some helpful tips in relation to cycle hire in Salzburg. The impressive 14th century building stands sentinel on the Monks Mountain, and is difficult to reach with baggage if on foot. Much easier to rent a cab from the railway station to get one up the mountain....

Basically a mid class hotel at at a five star location (the hotel borders to a five star hotel) which gives a basic rooms and service but friendly and with quality. The hotel is located in an old convent/school of a catholic order but the guesthouses are separated from the daily life of the order, but the location on the...

We spent several days at the Joahnnes Schloessl in Salzburg in July 2010 with our family of 10. It was wonderful! It is so centrally located and yet so quiet. The prices are so reasonable considering you are in the center of town. The rooms are very clean. The breakfasts were great. The staff was super friendly!
