What a beautiful hotel. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Walking distance to the city, local buses nearby. Rooms very modern and clean. Lovely grounds and a tour of the main building is highly recommended

This is somewhere to go to wind down and enjoy the countryside. The grounds are beautiful and the Hotel has kept its original character but offers all the modern amenities you expect of a modern hotel. The staff were very professional and friendly and the food was excellent. The old Library is most inspiring. This is a wonderful place to...

The Schloss Leopoldskron, once built by an archbishiop then later acquired by an Austrian artist and founder of the Salzburg Festspiele, Max Reinhardt, one could not stay at a more auspicious place than that in Salzburg. The historical flair of the location makes all the difference. You find a huge library, a rokoko palace, a park and a lake -...

We really enjoyed our stay. The room is small, but updated. The grounds are beautiful, situated right on the lake. The breakfast in the palace is generous, with mimosas included. You can explore at your own leisure the many beautifully appointed rooms in the palace. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. I would definitely recommend it to others.

A good breakfast, friendly staff, renovated bedrooms, which are in the old servants' quarters and lots of history in the main building. The ibrary there is a copy of the Stiftsbibliothek in St. Gallen. Great place to take photos when the weather plays along, with views over the lake to the mountains. Only gripe is the pillows and the walls...

Wooden floors, sloping ceilings, elevated windows and famous tunes from the Sound of Music are played on loop at this hotel. Immaculately designed in tones of white and wood, the hotel has spacious courtyards and overlooks the lake. They offer free bicycles to visit new town and the castle or simple cycle around old town. We expected the Sound-of-Music-ness but did not expect the deeper history of this place--the connection to Max Reinhardt, the astonishing libraries, the intellectual presence of the Salzburg seminars. It's removed from town, and without a car you pretty much need to walk down and up to get to restaurants (you can catch cabs to do the uphill return easily), but...
