We thought we were going to be out of the way. We were not far from a tram stop and or a quick Uber ride into the city center. The hotel was what you expect from a Marriott. Nice room, nice linens, clean lobby, a...More
We stayed in the hotel for some nights while visiting Wien. After checking in, we found out that there were no slippers in the room at all. I called the reception and asked for them. Everything OK. But why do they not have slippers and...More

Nice lobby with good tasty of decoration. Too young staff and as a result a little unexperienced. Instead ot this they are kind and ready to help you. The room and bathroom are big enough and clean. But the amenities were so poor (no bottle...More
I found the hotel to be one of the nicer Courtyard Hotels that I have visited. The rooms and lobby were well maintained and the staff was very nice. I had a small problem with the lock on my room and they immediately took care...More
The hotel is "far" from downtown Vienna, but the subway (less than a 2-minute walk form the hotel) gets you there in approx. 10 minutes. The reception desk staff was super friendly whenever we needed something, and assisted us excellently. Spacious, modern and clean rooms,...More

Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and
ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.

I have since been to this hotel a second time and my impression is vastly different than the first. There is very little within walking distance, especially in winter. There are definitely no shops, or cafes, for breakfast, and the food at the hotel is overpriced Courtyard fare. The hotel also negotiates nothing - so no breakfast will mean no breakfast.
It is NOT close to the city center, which is where NYE activities would be. I would do a stretch and look at Starwood as you can transfer points - they are the better hotels in Vienna.
