Hotel is convenient to public transportation and staff is helpful in suggesting restaurants and providing directions via public transportation. There are a few eating places nearby, but the more interesting restaurants require a tram ride to center city -- an easy thing to do.

The location of the hotel is great! There's a Lidl supermarket downstairs (so forget about those vending machines with overpriced snacks right outside the lifts) and it's very close to the tram stop. To get to the city centre, just take tram 43 (towards Schottentor). You may stop at Alser Straße to board the U-Bahn (i.e. subway). However, getting to...

The rooms were clean and comfortable. Ensure the windows are closed otherwise you will get no sleep due to all the street and city noises. The location of the hotel is very good with a tram stop very close to the hotel. It takes ±15-20 minutes on a direct tram ride to the Centre of Vienna. The breakfast was good...

A nice place three tram stops away from the nearest metro station (a trip to the city centre will take you half an hour). Clean, nice, warm - everything needed for a person who wants to see Vienna and needs hotel only to sleep there.

We've stayed in this hotel with my girlfriend for two nights, a great hotel and good location. 1. Room was great, on 5th floor, view from room is good, looking at roofs and churches, room was very clean, soft bed, light very good and romantic, comfortable and hot. 2. bathroom very clean and convenient with clean towels . 3. location...

The location of the hotel is very good, around 40 minute walk to the Centre of Vienna and a direct tram ride in 15-20 minutes. Parking is available via underground car park and is quite tight especially in a big car! However mind is eased that your car will be safe. When entering the hotel the desk is easily found...

the rooms are tidy but small and so is the bathroom. we took the rooms in an upper floor and it was quiet taking into consideration it was directly on the street. the front desk weren't that friendly though. we went in December and the temperature in the rooms was perfect. the tram station is right across the street and...

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in a triple room. I think it is a decent hotel for the price we paid, but I was expecting a bit more from a 4* hotel. The breakfast was good, but didn't have a large variety of choices. The rooms were ok, but they can seem a bit outdated. As for...

Hotel Senator was a great a restful reprise from the busy and noisy city hotels of Eastern Europe. The rooms are simple but organized and very clean. The reception staff are fantastic and very helpful in all matters. They have computers to access so etickets may be printed for travel destinations. They have a small bar in the lobby where you...

Location: The location is not really ideal. It's quite far away from the city centre and there's no direct or quick way to get there. You have to walk a few minutes to get to a bus/tram stop and catch the only tram/bus that goes towards the city centre. There aren't too many eating places nearby so it may be...

Staying in Ottakring

Neighbourhood Profile
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).
