This is a comfortable, quiet and reasonably priced place to stay in central Vienna - warm in winter and deliciously cool in summer. Ten minutes walk from the cathedral, near a major transport interchange and elegant shopping streets. It used to be a closely guarded...More

Stayed here for two nights in October, having stayed there before about 20 years ago so knew it was a good place to stay. Lovely comfortable bed and modern bathroom. Excellent buffet breakfast with a big choice of different cold meats, cheeses, eggs, pates, pastries,...More
Make sure you have a PIN number when arriving because that is how room key is accessed. Virtually no staff interaction. Breakfast was good. Room itself was spacious, clean and quiet except for church bells.

Dear guest, thank you for your feedback. Thank you, too, for mentioning our after-hours check in system with key machine and PIN. We are glad that you apparently enjoyed your stay at BENEDIKTUSHAUS im SCHOTTENstift!
Spartan room in a clean, quiet, well-run facility. Breakfast was typical, ample European cold buffet. Quick walk to Stottentor on the Ringstraße for Tram or Ubahn access to everything, or walk the other direction to AmHof for the pedestrian street network into Stephensdom and other...More

Dear guests, thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at Benediktushaus im Schottenstift!
The fourth star is for the location in the absolute heart of Vienna, close to all the must-see sights. There is no television, if that is important to you, and the bathroom is the usual Euro-cheesy. Nice breakfast, with coffee worthy of Vienna.

Dear guest, thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you appreciated the location of our hotel. The lack of television in the rooms is a deliberate choice just to ensure their special quietness.
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The
Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

Dear guest, I hope you will accept my answer, too. All rooms on the 3rd and 4th floor, which are exposed to the sun, are equipped with a fan. The rooms on the 1st and second floor get more shadow from the trees. There are large windows in the rooms providing good air circulation. At the moment, it ist rather cool weather outside. Until now, wenn have always found a solution to make the stay of our guests as pleasant as possible also during hot summer weather.
Kind regards, Michaela
