Stayed here for business and took an extra day to see the city. Service was impeccable, the room had a fantastic view of the city. My wife joined me and had a small problem with her throat. Obviously the staff communicates very well with each other. The concierge noticed her discomfort at check in, the next day the Housekeeping staff... More

The hotel was amazing and the view of Vienna was stunning. Everything went perfectly. The bar upstairs is awesome (look at the ceiling) at night and the hotel is in the center of everything. The rooms are spacious but might be decorated a bit better but I did not care :)

My husband and I just returned from 4 nights at the Sofitel on our first trip to Vienna. The hotel is across the river/tributary from all the major sites but well within walking distance. The airport bus stop was less than a ten minute walk away. We had a luxury room on the 16th floor which had a fantastic view... More

I have visited the hotel last week and, although visited Vienna many times, it was my first time in Sofitel. The room was relatively small but very ergonomic. Clean white, trendy with fantastic view, with all facilities available. The architect and designers have made a really good job indeed. The staff is english speaking, exceptionally helpful on all matters and... More

After more than 12 years of regularly staying in the InterCon and Hilton by Stadtpark I am now a fan of the Sofitel and have stayed here twice in the last month. The rooms and views are excellent and the 18th floor restaurant is spectacular. The breakfast choices are impressive. The location requires a taxi service to anywhere central which... More

We arrived early (check-in 15.00) but were accommodated immediately and the receptionist was very helpful, bright and professional. Our room was on the 10th floor at the back of the hotel - this wasn't an issue as the view was good (Ferris Wheel etc., ) and you can get views of the cathedral and city at breakfast on 18th floor.... The management of Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom should be informed that they have the best concierge team ever!!!! They did miracles just to find one teddy bear by searching in half of Europe. Admiration to all the team. In brief - in May this year together with my husband and our baby daughter we were again staying in the hotel and... More

Picked this hotel based on tripadvisor and was very happy. The rooms have amazing views and I suggest paying extra for a room with a cathedral view, no other hotel in Vienna has this view. Location is central and walking distance to central Vienna. Great front desk and reservation department service also!

Stayed here 3 Nights for a Conference (4 Subway stops to VIC). Got a superior room on 10th floor (minibar included (juice + water, Daily restocking great!) + nespresso coffeemaker) . Very stylish room with tub and shower. Hermes amenities! View is great, either direction . Big plus: excellent breakfast buffet on 18th floor restaurant: 32 Euro but well worth... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
