The stay at Imperial for 3 nights was wonderful except for one thing. The bed was mushy and worn out a new mattress is required. The breakfast (fruhstuck) as usual was great, service was great, food was wonderful. Had some drinks in the 1873 - HalleNsalon Bar also great with the 24 foot Christmas Tree. We really like the Imperial,... More

We have been booked in the hotel by a Virtuoso Travel professional and were treated as VIP's. From the moment we walked in the door, the experience was wonderful. Could not find a fault if I tried. The general manager came to greet us, the lovely head housekeeper was there to make sure our rooms were to our satisfaction. Manfred... More

What could be more perfect than staying in a palace? Once the private residence of Prince Phillip and his wife, Maria Therese ((Sisi) has now has become the perfect 5 star hotel for us mere mortals. Red carpeted staircases, chandeliers, antiques, silk walls and enormous portraits transports you into another time. Luckily the rooms do not. The rooms are lovely... More

I stayed here for two nights. The weather was abysmal but the welcome here was very friendly and the room was very nicely appointed and very comfortable. This is a grand old hotel with lots of charm. I would generally choose a more modern hotel but on this occasion the hotel was chosen by the office. Not complaining, I enjoyed... More

Hotel Imperial Vienna were originally created in 1863 as the Viennese residence of the Prince of Württemberg and were transformed into the Hotel Imperial in 1873. The hotel is kept in excellent condition. You, on the one hand, you find yourself like in the 19th century, and on the other hand, you have all the advantages of modern life. Rooms... More

Hotel Imperial is conveniently located within walking distance of most everything in Vienna. The hotel accommodations were spaciously comfortable. My visit related to a business event. Because I didn't pay for my stay, I can't comment on the value. Like many places in Vienna, I felt that indoors was hot - possibly over-compensating for the cold outside. The overall experience... We arrived at the hotel at one o'clock and were taken to our room. The room was absolutely AMAZING. Canopy above the beds, marble bathroom, twin wardrobes, complementary slippers and dressing gowns. We had water and chocolates brought to the room each night. Wonderful nights sleep. The staff were all amazing and made us feel most welcome. If you want... More

Hotel Imperial has been serving one of the most outstanding brunches in Vienna. Settings are nice and live music is played throughtout the 3 hour brunch. Cold appetizer buffet includes oysters, carpacchio, pates, herrings, smoked fish, sallads. Warm buffet includes one warm fish dish, roast beef, rack of lamb and tafelspitz. Dessert buffet contains chocolate volcano, Imperial cake, creme brulee... More

As soon as you enter at the Hotel Imperial you can feel the history of the building, all famous people of this world have stayed there. The hotel is warm, very classic, and the team is very welcoming. I went for dinner in their restaurant and the food was delicious, service was good.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
