We did not stay here but had dinner in a private room to celebrate a friend's birthday. From the moment you step into the lobby, you are transported to another world. Everything is so beautiful and luxurious. The dinner was excellent - good food, fine wines and charming, attentive service. A wonderful place for a special celebration.

We absolutely enjoyed this hotel, it has one of the best locations in Vienna. The breakfast was delicious and you could always drink a real Wiener Kaffe in the lobby. The area is very safe and you are in the very middle of the city center, 5 minutes walk from almost any attractions.

When choosing Vienna for a stay, for any reason, the Sacher Hotel must be on the top of the choices, for all the good reasons. It is a really 5* Hotel. The staff is outstanding in all the fields. All of they are very kind, always wanting to help us.The decoration, top austrian characteristic, must be visited.

A beautiful yet expensive hotel tucked away into the picturesque city of Vienna. Amazing food there and staff were sharp but very nice. I enjoyed it very much! It has such a nice interior as well, so to anyone who wants to go to Vienna, Go Sacher!

We arrived at the Opera, staying at Sacher. Comments on convenience and luxury superfluous, All so clear. Each suite is decorated in a unique style, it took a few, so it was something to compare. In the heart of Vienna, luxury breakfast with fruit and all kinds of cheese. Very beautiful interiors of the hall, bars, restaurants, a wonderful breakfast,...

Landmark hotel of Vienna. Possibly the best location I can think of. Extremely comfortable room, classic Viennese yet modernly equipped. Wonderful breakfast. The rooms they serve breakfast in was itself worth the price of admission. Great service throughout. The history that goes with the hotel also added a little touch of Vienna. I’ve stayed in other hotels in Vienna. This...

My wife and I ended our tour of Europe at this old world gem. We received a complimentary upgrade on check-in to the Schwanensee Suite on the first floor (which is the second floor if one counts the lobby as the first). As you can see from the pictures it more than met our needs and provided everything one could...

We last stayed here four years ago and had such a fine time we decided to go back. Since our visit there are some new hotels competing but The Sacher still (just) ahead of the competition for us. We had to change rooms after a really bad nights sleep caused by overnight works at the Opera House. The rooms should...

My wife and I stayed for two nights, our first in Vienna. This hotel is perfectly located, walking distance to "old Vienna" sites, directly across from the Opera House, but quiet. Our room - 305 - had a nice high ceiling and was a comfortable size. The bar, sitting lounge, and restaurant were classically elegant. Think of the Plaza Hotel...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
