location of the hotel is very good, walking distance to many of the top attraction just around the corner of the Kaertner strasse. It is an old classic building, the only negative aspect being that the bathroom did not have air conditioning. rooms are very spacious with high ceilings. staff is very helpful and friendly. it was clean except that...

Have stayed in a number of hotels all over Austria including Vienna, Salzburg, Eisenburg, Graz, And others. However, this hotel remains my favourite till date. Reasons: the hotel is fantastically located on Kartnerstrasse which is the city centre and you have easy reach to historical places and the chic shopping centre. The hotel rooms are huge and airy. The furniture...

I like this hotel, location was perfect, you can walk to St. Stephan Cathedral, to Albertina Museum and to many popular locations from the hotel. The shopping area is in front if the hotel. The staff is very friendly. The only disadvantage was the old furniture. Everything els were perfect.

What a wonderful hotel! The staff was extremely kind and helpful and went out of their way to ensure the entire stay was enjoyable. I especially appreciate the front desk staff, who worked extremely hard to make sure we were well taken care of. We wanted a four star (economic) hotel in a five star location, we got it. I'm so glad we found a place with charming decor instead of the other cold modern places. The staff were approachable, not stuffy and knowledgable.

The hotel stil breathes the grandeur of golden era of Vienna. Unfortunately not much changed since that time. My room key was still a real key on a key hanger. There was a bath in the bathroom and the room was small but clean. The bed was quite comfortable. My room was very quiet. Breakfast was €17. The buffet was...

My son chose this hotel via the internet and the pictures don't do it justice. The location is perfect for exploring the city centre, the tourist information is at the top of the road & most things/attractions are walking distance. The welcome was warm & friendly & we were provided with several maps, guides & information on arrival. The room...

The Hotel Astoria is nicely located centrally to many activities in this lovely old city. The front office staff is superb in accommodating their guests, from rapid check-in to advice on what to see and how to get there. Friendly, cheerful, and professional----that is their trademark. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfasts extensive-----a real treat! And individual service is provided...

I really wish I could give this lodging property a higher rating. It is a stylish hotel built early in the last century with an outstanding location within the Vienna ring. Fine shopping and dining is just steps away, as are most of the visitor attractions in central Vienna. Guest rooms are large and the beds are comfortable. Unfortunately, the...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
