Clearly, the greatest strength of this hotel is its location. It is literally right in the center of Vienna. You can walk to St. Stephen's Cathedral in 5 minutes of less. The location can't be beat. As for my room, it was decorated in a very... interesting style, including a headboard sporting a shag carpet motif. It was small, but...

This hotel has a great location so you can reach most of the central points of interest by walk and great transport links. The bus from/to the airport stopped just 5 minutes away from it. The room had a really nice and cosy design, it was always clean, the bed was comfortable (lots of pillows provided), there were tea and...

The location is the best feature of this hotel with two subway "U" nearby and falling on the fashion street of Vienna. The wifi is great. Check-in and check-out was quite easy. Amazing staff, helpful. Would definitely book again.

Stayed there for a business trip, so transport was important. The location is good to reach trains, buses and the airport. The area might appear a bit dodgy in the night, but it is actually safe. Didn't have breakfast but had a coffee at Westbahnhof.

A good location in the historic inner city, near St Stephen's Cathedral, restaurants and shopping. The rooms are well decorated and spotlessly clean and tea and coffee making facilities are provided. They are on the small side but more than adequate. The staff are helpful and friendly and speak excellent English. We used the hotel airport transfer, it cost €...

Great location, 5 minute walk if that, to St. Stephen's. Very easy to navigate to if you have baggage. All the staff were very nice and spoke English well. We had a 'standard' room which had a window which did open. That actually did make a difference to have some fresh air in the room. The room was modern but...

Hotel is nice, good location but unfortunately no air conditioning available as stated on their website. Excuse was its winter and its switched to heating. Was told I can leave window open, but that was not possible because of all the noise from the bars downstairs. I have reached out to Mercure about falsely saying air conditioning on their website...

Excellent room, though not very large; well-equipped bathroom with a bath, first-rate internet, comfy bed and chairs, useful desk, and excellent TV. Only criticism: at breakfast, if anything cooked was ordered, service could be extremely slow! One morning I just had to leave before my omelette had arrived.

This hotel is in a great location within easy walking distance to attractions. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Room though small was very clean and well appointed. Breakfast was fantastic, every thing you could ask for. Though there were roadworks in progress outside we were not affected by it.

The location is excellent. It is right close to all attractions in Vienna. This said, the stay was not comfortable. The room was really too small. Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
