Wonderfully positioned, the Hotel de France has a superb newly refurbished wing with very confortable and spacious rooms. Great ratio between quality and price, the hotel has a very good restaurant, great and Young staff working, all very kind and attentive. Goos place to enjoy Vienna saving a fortune and staying in a great 5* hotel. I will be back.

style is very classic, location is perfect for business and leisure, breakfast was great, service as well - only the style's not mine (very old-fashioned but not outworn). negative: very bad WLAN-reception in my room.

After reading a number of reviews I was concerned about this hotel. I had reserved a very small room for myself, traveling alone, because although it was for business I was paying for it myself. When I checked in the staff offered me an upsell for 35 Euro per night and it was completely worth it. Especially since I was...

This hotel is what you need in Vienna! Very nice location and helpful staff. I was amazed by the height of the ceilings in the rooms. Furniture is a bit old but has a real old style feel. Breakfast is amazing!

The hotel was ok, big room. We were double charged by this hotel. Unfriendly back office staff with unfriendly attitude. No communication between nigh-day shift at the reception so don't expect too much from this unprofessional hotel and staff. They even hang up the phone if you want to ask about the double charge.

Really lovely hotel in great location. Breakfast buffet was excellent offering hot and cold options. Our room was very spacious with two bathrooms and we were provided with bathrobes, nice touch. The room was very quiet at the back of the hotel but because of that was very dark with hardly any natural light. Overall really enjoyed hotel for comfort...

Overally I had a good impression. Slightly old-fashioned, but very clean and with a great location (less than 50 metres to transportation means, tube and tram). Staff is very polite and helpful, though, as everyone said in my business company (people from 6 different countries), unfriendly..Room was rather spacious - espacially for one person - and quiet with one full...

Situated on the northern part of the ring, 50metres to tram and underground stations, but easily walkable to city centre attractions. Slightly old-fashioned hotel but clean and comfortable with great staff who are very friendly and helpful. Excellent buffet breakfast served in bright airy room. Did not eat at restaurant as seemed expensive and we wanted to eat traditional Viennese...

Dear Guest, We are very disappointed to read via TripAdvisor only, that we could not meet your expectations and would have loved been given the chance to react immediately on your complaints. Maybe you return to Vienna sometimes again, probably choosing the De France again as well and booking a spacious Deluxe room or even a Junior Suite on the...

Pros - located in the center of Vienna, everything is close on foot, also U-Bahn is nearby. Tea/coffee facilities in the room. Cons - old furniture and very low speed internet. In the 21st century this is not acceptable.

Staying in Serviten Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
Serviten Quarter
The Serviten Quarter is an inner city neighbourhood with many private charms. Popular with French and American expats, Sigmund Freud’s neighbourhood boasts his former practice and apartments, now turned into a museum. Stunning Liechtenstein Garden Palace houses the private art collection of Prince Adam of Liechtenstein. Romantic Strudlhofstiege close to the palace is a fantastic photo spot. With their small independent shops and eateries, the main streets of Liechtensteinstrasse, Porzellangasse and Servitengasse reveal much of this area’s character. Peek into baroque Serviten Church, with its richly decorated dome and walls. At the Old Jewish cemetery in Seegasse you can see one of the most precious cemeteries in Europe with tombstones almost 500 years old.
