There is a very big difference between 4 star hotels around the world. This is rated 4 but I would maximum give 3. Staff is good and friendly but hotel itself is really tired and needs refreshing. As for location it is close to very center 5-7 minute walk.

This hotel is well located and located at walking distance to touristic places and museums. Rooms are clean and fair though not big. Breakfast is average and not fancy for Mercure standards. Good choice for business meetings.

we have been several times at the Mercure in Hollandstrasse. Lot cheaper than the downtown Mercure hotels but same if not better service. Location is perfect either for walking all of the historic places in Vienna or having easy access to public transport. The room shave everything you need, the staff is friendly and breakfast (if you decide for it)...

Dear regular guest, It naturally gives us a very special pleasure to have won you as a regular guest. And thank you for the further recommendation of our house. The location of our house, not in the direct inner city but close to it, brings certainly some advantages. On the one hand the arrival by car is of course very...

As a family of 5 we wanted to visit the xmas markets. We were not disappointed, the hotel for the price was of a very high standard. The rooms were very comfortable with kettle coffee, tea milk and if you needed more you only had to ask. The room itself was immaculate and the staff were very helpful. As for...

The location of the hotel is good - you could walk to the city center from there. We didn't like the staff though - I had to call few times for the iron I requested. The receptionist couldn't answer the basic questions about the city... Shame.

Hotel is down a side street opposite the river. we checked in online and arrived to our room being ready prior to lunch. Recommend doing this. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who gave us an envelope with hotel info and city map. Great idea. Room was small but very functional. Lots of hooks to hang coats and bags so the room...

The room was big and you have a lot of space. The location is very good and you are in the city center in a 10min walk. Don't understand why people think it's far away! Would stay here again for sure.

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
