A review of the history of this former palace endows it with a certain grandeur, and it generally lives up to it. From its elegant lobby staircase, to the chandeliers, to the 20 foot ceilings throughout, the hotel embodies its past, though its age is increasingly apparent, as graceful a process as it is. The staff are professional and efficient...

Stayed here recently for a week, and would happily stay again. The staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough for you. The rooms, on two levels, made the most of the space and provided a great living environment, cleaned daily to a great standard. The buffet breakfast was great, and the menu throughout the day delicious and good value. It...

A bit out of the way for downtown sightseeing but worth the cab fare. The Schloss is lovely and the staff gracious. The local soup and the asparagus salad were a delightful dinner and the breakfast buffet gorgeous!

The terrace offers a great view of Vienna on clear days. It is situated in the Vienna Woods. The staff is friendly and the food is very nice. The rooms inside are not so cosy for a meal ,but they are ok. There is a big parking lot in front of it.

A good Hotel, On a hilltop. you can view the whole city from there. Wien is at your reach. A large hotel with good reception and good rooms. Not very luxury, but with an old history. Parking is free!! Take a walk outside of hotel. Beautiful scenery.

This hotel, a castle, is in the suburb of Vienna in 16th district, but it's just 35 minutes by car to the city center of Vienna. Public transport is available too. On the other hand you have thousands of square meters parc for walking or jogging. Service of staff is professional and attentive. Buffet breakfast is very good and special...

I stayed here with my sister for 2 nights in early March. We had booked a two single beds room and what we got was more of a two story studio apartment. As far as I know the rooms all have two story windows and are just amazing to look out onto Vienna. There was a couch underneath the staircase...

We have just come back after 5 nights at The Schloss. Whilst it's outside if vienna the views from the hotel more than make up for it. The staff are extremely friendly and nothing is a problem to them. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel gates which takes you to the nearest U Bahn station Ottakring from...

Staying in Ottakring

Neighbourhood Profile
Ottakring
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).
