Once we arrived at the hotel, we found out that our reservation had been cancelled due to the credit card not working, even though we were not obliged to pay by card, and we stated that we would pay by cash. Even though we found ourselves in a terrrible situation, in a foreign city without a place to stay, the...

The Staff are friendly and helpful, I left an item to be collected by a courier, it was deposited in the safe and the collection receipt was handed to me on my return in the evening. You're only a fifteen minute walk from the city centre, but you can also get the tram from the end of the road or...

What a lovely place to stay! The location is perfect for visiting Vienna. The rooms overlook the inner courtyard, which serve as a cafe/restaurant for locals and tourists. The room was small, but had everything and was spotless. The food in the restaurant was fabulous and very reasonably priced. It closes at 10 pm, so there was no problem with...

Interesting courtyard hotel in Neubau area with Interesting decor and nicely furnished rooms. I was surprised to find when opening what I thought was a wardrobe to find a mini kitchen with fridge and mini hob and sink.

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
