It's unusual to have the reception co-mingled with the bar. Although it did not cause us problems, I saw queues building up on occasions and is confusing for new guests when they walk in. Personally I was not keen on the decor. It feels like an office basement when you go in with pipework on display and half-built walls. I...

All good except for Wi Fi connection not included in room rate and rather expensive breakfast. Atmosphere and deco are great. Location is quite good, but you need to walk a little to nearest metro/train.

We were three colleagues who booked the pentahotel for one night. We found the integration of bar and the reception to be an innovative and intriguing idea. The whole place is tastefully done and is designed to make the guests feel instantly comfortable. It certainly helped that the staff manning the reception / Check-In / bar were generally fairly chilled...

The overall conditions in the hotel were really good, it has a unique design with modern features. The rooms were really quite and clean and the beds are super comfortable. The only downside is the extreamly bad wifi and the very long waiting times at the front desk. Checking and checkout was a looooong wait. And no information that the...

Pentahotel was a great place to stay in Vienna. It's about a 15 minute walk to the inner city but there's an awesome market on the way that we would always stop at. We used Uber also. The bar is open 24 hours a day! Food was good as was the service. Cookie, a bartender, took amazing care of us...

Very original and appealing hotel concept. Reception and bar on the same place. Very kind and hardworking staff. Rooms are OK but could be a bit cleaner. Very quiet rooms and good bed. Large choice for breakfast.

The hotel staff were welcoming and very helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Central Vienna is a short underground ride or interesting 20 minute through the famous Nasch Market. We had a great stay.

Have just returned home from Vienna having stayed at the Pentahotel for four nights and, as the title suggests, pretty average. Nothing major to moan about and nothing major to rave about. The bar/check in area was a bit confusing upon arrival as it seemed one poor lady was doing everything by herself. The room was very adequate (although my...

Very cool lobby/bar, big bed, tidy room, nice people. And above all, not that expensive. Lobby is like a bar/disco with a lot of seats and couches for relaxation. Good vibe, chill music, great place to hang out with a beer.

Nice and fun with designhotel, but end of the day, the function is mandatory. Very small parkingspaces. Good gym. Very nice and healthy breakfast. Dark colours make it difficult to find card slot within the room to light up the room.

Staying in Margareten

Neighbourhood Profile
Margareten
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A revolution in the way you sleep, eat, drink and relax is coming to Vienna. The beautiful city may have a timeless elegance and charm, but sometimes things need to be shaken up a little bit. The pentahotel Vienna takes what you'd expect from a hotel and shakes off the stiff formality of a traditional reception area and replaces it with a laid-back Pentalounge that's cool, relaxing and elegant. We like to do things differently, but also know the things that make your stay unforgettable; all the comfort and convenience you need, and none of the pointless gimmicks that you don't. ... more   less
