The location is v good, less than 5 min walk to and from the metro, the city center is also reachable by foot or by a couple of metro stops. Rooms: We stayed in a standard room with 2 beds, the room size was convenient, a safe, mini bar, flat screen TV, the usual... Staff: are helpful, friendly.. what you...

We stayed at this hotel for 4 Nights starting 20th May 2014. The check-in staff was friendly and helpful. They also helped us by arranging day trips and guiding us about the place. The room was good, clean with all required amenities. As it was bit hot and we could not keep windows open at night (as room was facing...

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Very clean rooms, great service. Lovely sitting areas downstairs and a great outdoor area. A little oasis in a big city really. Walking distance from town and many attractions.

We arrived early and were upgraded to room 700 on the 1st floor, overlooking the garden and approached via either a covered way or a rear door from the bar, which served just 5 rooms - one on the ground and 4 on the first. The room must have been one of the largest in the hotel and included a...

Very nice and compact hotel, with really good location just 15 minutes walking to the Opera. Not so expensive, very good value per money. I like the breakfast, especial have it in the lovely garden. The front desk staff very friendly and useful.

A clean, modern hotel that is well run and reasonably placed for seeing Vienna. My room was large enough and well-equipped, and I had no problems with anything. It is a 15-20 minute walk to the city centre. I would certainly come back here.

I had to come again to Vienna for business, and as usual I booked a room in this friendly hotel. This time I got a room overlooking the garden, and the feeling was really great. As usual the friendly staff was attentive to my needs. One day I finished my meetings in the afternoon and had a few hours in...

We were just reminiscing about this hotel as one of those that stands out amongst the many we've stayed in in our travels. Conveniently located near the train and bus station, it was easy to move around the city and visit the sights nearby. We loved the breakfast buffet in the mornings. It filled us up to start the day...

We found this hotel to be close to the city centre as well as the museum quarter, the Belvedere and the Schonbrunn Palace. All within easy walking distance. Lots of supermarkets and restaurants near by. Staff were very helpful. We had a room off the garden and we found the room to be a good size. Good breakfasts. Wifi was...

As someone who has been travelling the world for nigh on 40 years it was an absolute pleasure to stay at the Holiday Inn Vienna, more like a boutique hotel than a skyscraper. Close to many restaurants and Bamboo next door was a real treat and low cost too. Upgraded at the efficient front desk, the whole place was so...

Staying in Margareten

Neighbourhood Profile
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
