We had a small but spotlessly clean room. The hotel is located in a quiet street just a short stroll away from all the main sites. We walked around the neighbourhood on our first morning and really enjoyed going into the local shops and restaurants. Breakfast is good. Showers and beds excellent. Would recommend it.

We got a room as large as a small apartment at a very reasonable price. The street is very quiet except for delivery trucks and vans in the morning. The breakfast buffet was like an ordinary hotel breakfast buffet with cold cuts cheese, cereal, juice, coffee/tea etc. The hotel is located less than 1/4 mile from the subway system and...

Easily accessed from airport via S-Bahn and one change at Praterstern to U-Bahn to Rathaus. Hotel is just two streets back from metro station. Situated in a quiet street. Check-in was easy and helpful. Twin room was plenty big enough with TV and en-suite shower. Beds comfortable and clean as was the room etc. Bit of a chill in the...

So much about this hotel is right: the location, the thoughtful convenience of arrangements in the room including a spotless bath, the breakfast, and the value. We stayed four nights during our recent trip to Vienna, where we had lived in the early nineties. While the weather was unusually warm, we found the hotel quiet and comfortable. There was some...

We spent 5 nights here and for a city centre hotel thought it was amazingly good value. The hotel is well placed for visiting all the main sights which are within walking distance so this is a big advantage. It was easy to locate as it's just across the road from behind the Rathaus. The rooms have high ceilings so...

It's small, its functional, with good location and a really really cute lift that transports you back 100 years. Location is really good, walking distance from parliament, museum quarter and volksgarden, there is nothing that can beat the location. As it is inside one of the streets its quite and not noisy at all. Inside room - Rooms are small,...

I have just got back from a trip to Vienna. The hotel is well located with a 10 minute walk to the old town and 5 minutes from the parliament. The staff were knowledgeable and couldn't be more helpful. We loved the old lift with the bench seat.

Thoroughly enjoyed our three nights at Hotel Graf Stadion. Check-in was extremely easy, the lift is very cool, and the room was surprisingly large. Comfortable beds and an immaculate room and bathroom. The breakfast is very basic, but it's clean, well stocked, definitely adequate and great to have, because breakfasts in other places would cost a lot. The hotel is...

Nice, clean hotel. Very pleasant staff and good breakfast. Stayed for 4 days. Hotel situated in the heart of the Vienna right behind Rathaus, close to city center (10-15 mins by walk) ... and you'll enjoy very cool, old elevator!

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
