This hotel is situated at a very nice location (walking distance from Rathuas and subway station). However, the staff was not friendly which was a surprise due to all the reviews we have read. We reached earlier than the check-in time and were asked to...More
The room was clean and tidy, and the service was warm and friendly. We had a bit of trouble negotiating the heating (could never quite get it right), and the breakfast was just so-so, but I really don't stay at a place for its breakfast....More
Can't fault this charming place. Staff couldn't do enough to help. Right near metro, shops, trams, restaurants etc. Great little pub minutes away called Centimetre. Fab food, staff & reasonably priced. Great for Christmas markets.
Alex Polizzi would have a field day with this sub standard hotel, hotels in Vienna are expensive so when this 3 star property was available for our New Year eve trip to Vienna we thought great, the trip advisor reviews were not bad either.
Stayed here for 3 nights for new year room was small but beds very comfy
A few hundred metres from subway
Wifi hit and miss
Breakfast good enough
And price was reasonable overall I would stay here again
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of
overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
