Very basic clean hotel. Seems to be family owned, with some of the attendant disorganization that goes with that. The first day staff opened the the door on us unexpectedly not once, but twice. One of the days the room was not cleaned, for some reason. Breakfast fair, but monotonous - the same thing every day, although it was filling...

Not even sure where to begin with this place. Stayed here for 3 nights in July with a performance group of about 100. Not only were the hotel staff less than enthused to have 100 teenaged and chaperons in their presence, they were quite rude to even the adults in the group. we were told to get to our rooms...

Hotel Tabor should probably be torn down and replaced with an entirely new hotel. It is one step up on a youth hostel in terms of quality, provides poor value for money, and is the worst hotel I've stayed in for many years. Plus points first: - It is very clean. The old 60s bathrooms are spotless and bleached to...

The location is the strong point for this hotel, altho we had good service. The building is old and in need of some upgrading. The breakfast was buffet and self-serve, basic. However! The clientele is definitely international and the proximity to public transportation is great (for Vienna). This is a basic pricepoint place. We had good service and all personnel...

I stayed with my family for 3 nights in December. The hotel is quite old and the employees seem to work there from the beginning. The location is good, near the subway station and 15 minutes walking distance to Stephan Platz. Room was ok, clean but we have problem with heating. We called for assistance and they were fast enough...

I spent 4 nights in this hotel in January 2015 and was very satisfied. The reservation process and the whole communication with the hotel was fast and correct. The staff was very nice and helpful and gave me all the necessary information + map + tips for sightseeing in Vienna at my arrival. The rooms were nice, with appropriate temperature...

Very basic hotel. Location was good, but service was average. Poor breakfast, but nice coffee. Receptionists were not friendly. Wifi was available only in lobby downstairs, while receptionists claimed that it was available in the room. Average 3 star hotel.

The look of the hotel is a bit dated, however it does have what you would expect from a hotel like wifi and pleasant rooms. There is a macdonalds round the corner which I recommend in the morning as the breakfast is very limited. The hospitality of the breakfast staff is also very limited as they turned us away when...

We were lucky to get a room in the hotel as they were officially booked. The TV did not work and the room was a bit dated but it was spacious, comfortable and clean. Located just a few minutes from kosher restaurants and bakery.

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.

“If you're sensitive to noise you might want to ask for a room on the side street (above entrance) as the main street is cobbled and fairly busy. Wurst stand opposite metro pretty good and handy on your way back if you have inadvertantly under sausaged!”
