Situated in a nice residential neighborhood, it is easily accessible via public transport. It is about 20 minutes to the Inner Stadt (City Center) so you do need to plan. The rooms were a good size. I had a double room. it contained a fridge, stove top and ample storage. It is listed as a 4 star hotel, but I...

I was only there for one night, joining friends & colleagues who were there for several nights while attending an international music festival. The hotel seemed to be efficiently run, with friendly staff & good facilities. The bar area is quite small, however, as we found when we wanted to celebrate after the festival concert (music teachers are party animals!)....

The room was very old-fashioned and could have done with refurbishment, other than that the hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and our stay was very nice. The only downside to the hotel that would put me off staying there again is its location.

I've stayed in this hotel a total of 34 days during four visits from 2008, each one during the winter. The hotel is located in a mixed residential-business neighborhood about 15 minutes by tram (Schottentor-Grinzing, #38) from the downtown Ring and about 3 minutes from Grinzing. There is limited restaurant availability near the hotel. It has an excellent konditorei (Oberlaa)...

For a hotel that is named after a highly esteemed King, you'd expect top notch service. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Good points: I liked the fact that it wasn't too expensive, and that it was conveniently serviced by trams and underground. From the lobby to the nearest stop takes just some 7 minutes. Some of the staff were...

This hotel is close to city centre and a quick taxi ride for around 13 Euros. There’s also the option of taking a tram. The tram stop is around the corner form the hotel. There are a few shops, but eating options are almost inexistent. The hotel is dated and has a strange layout. You arrive at a floor by...

We always enjoy staying at this hotel. A few warnings--the hotel is not downtown. If your stay is short, you may not want to be this far out. Also, the breakfast is great, but if you have to pay separately, probably not worth it. There may be a hint of faded glory to this hotel, but our double room had...

Hotel is situated in the quiet residential area of Vienna. It is relatively good connected to the city centre by tram no. 38 (tram station is cca. 2 min. walking form the hotel) – it takes about 20-25 min. to the center of the city. The rooms, the furniture and interior decoration are very old and outdated (it reminded me...

Although the hotel is some distance from the center of the city (it is located in the 19th district), the transportation system makes it easy to get around to other parts of Vienna. The location close to Grinzing, with excellent tram service to the eateries there, is an advantage. I stayed for five nights at a very reasonable rate. The...

I stayed in the Kaiser Franz Joseph in Vienna in September for 4 nights. Rooms are clean but not particularly spacious. Single room is really a room with a single bed. Very good breakfast and I loved the service although I couldn´t check in earlier even if I kindly asked this option 2 weeks earlier. This hotel is located in...

Staying in Dobling

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are Neustift am Walde with even more great wine taverns, and café restaurant Cobenzl, up on Cobenzl hill – fantastic for great vistas of Vienna. The woodland around Kahlenberg has a wonderful and not too strenuous hiking path - just don't forget the insect repellent. If you have adventurous children, take them to Waldseilpark Kahlenberg (forest rope park Kahlenberg). A must-do if you want a taste of the Vienna Woods is a stop at Josefinenhütte next door with its great food, cosy interiors and wonderful outdoor space.
