The K+k Palais Hotel presents a dichotomy of experiences; while its location is widely lauded for being central and convenient, the hotel itself receives mixed assessments. Guests often compliment the cleanliness of the rooms, yet opinions are split regarding their comfort and modernity.
Many visitors find the hotel's atmosphere to be lackluster and its amenities basic, further noting that the value offered may not justify the expense. Service quality also varies, with reports of both friendly staff and disappointing interactions.

Great location, its about 10-13 min walk to Stephansdom, nearby there is a supermarket and 5-6 min walk metro station Schottenring (Line U4 and U2) so its perfect to go either on foot or via mentro. The room was equipped with tea pot, coffee and tea, fridge, safe box , and every day they put a bottle of water after housekeeping. The breakfast was nice and the staff were very helpful and supportive as we had a problem with breakfast ( the reservation er did from booking.com with breakfast was not fixed with that option , so the staff did a compensation for that bad experience) ! Thanks a lot .

Super welcome stay at K+K hotel Palais. Friendly staff, super clean. Good beds and a delicious breakfast buffet. Parking was also very easy in front of the door for less than 5 Euro per day. Close to the Danube, the city center and a nice playground where you can have a drink.
Recommended.

We spent three happy days here! We stayed on the fifth floor overlooking the park in the square. No noise from other rooms, corridor or from outside other than nice laughter and shouts occasionally from the children at the park. The rooms were not modern but our park view, spacious room had everything we could need for a great stay. Comfort, cleanliness,WiFi, tea & coffee making facilities, fridge, and good in bathroom & shower.
We loved the breakfast; lots of choice and good quality. Special thanks to the lovely ladies in the breakfast room who were warm, friendly, helpful and always kept the area tidy and well-stocked.
The location was great... 4 mins walk from good value airport bus stop (Vienna Airport Lines Value) - takes only 20 mins- and close to other public transport links. We, however walked everywhere! City centre is 15/20minutes walk only. Would most definitely recommend this hotel.

Not a 4star experience unfortunately, the hotel is able to trade on its excellent location in proximity to Vienna’s central sights and airport connection on the VAL2 bus route which was good.
We had booked a package with Jet2 with and early morning flight but were told on arrival check-in was not till 3pm. There are no comfortable seating areas in reception just one lounge chair and 4-5 high bar stools. Several people arriving after us were allocated their rooms before us.
The rooms were clean but average with a bit dated decor and basic tea and coffee facilities. We had an issue with the heated towel rail being so hot it was pumping heat into the bedroom so we were unable to sleep - Reception did quickly sort this out and got housekeeping to turn down the setting but the room was still over warm and we slept with the window open for the rest of our stay - thankfully the beds were very comfortable. (No water in room though there was a fridge)
At 24 euros pp we felt breakfast was overpriced and didnt look appealing to our tastes so we went to the excellent Brillo grocery store on the square and enjoyed excellent Apricot pastries and granola, fruit and yogurt for a fraction.
We arranged a late check out with one of the female receptionists the day before departure as we had an evening flight. However the next day we were hounded with several phone calls from the rather rude and impolite older man on reception informing us we should have checked out at 11 am and could we return to the hotel, disrupting our prebooked visit to the Sisi museum and only further adding to our dissatisfaction with the hotel and this staff member in particular.
It’s a shame as a hotel in this location has huge potential- it’s functional, clean and in a good spot but we felt lacked facilities and level of service you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

Dear JLFLeeds, Thank you very much for taking the time to write a detailed review about your stay at our hotel. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as we strive to improve with each and every stay. We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations. We are going to renovate the Hotel next year, with which a lot of changes are planned. The rooms as well as our breakfast room and service are getting a make over and we will definitely keep your words in mind during that process. Our staff is usually very attentive and always trying to offer our guests exceptional service. It was an uncommon instance and we are sure if you give us another chance, we will be able to make your stay a memorable, in a good way. Best Regards Your K+K Palais Team

My stay at this hotel was disappointing from the start. The rooms are absolutely horrible; cramped and outdated, with old, musty carpets. It had a funky smell to it that you eventually get used to, but it’s still unpleasant. The mini fridge was empty, and the limited space in the room made it difficult to move around & store suitcases. When we first arrived, the lights weren’t working, though this was quickly fixed. The first night was a nightmare; kids were playing football in the hallways, yelling, and ding-dong ditching. It took four calls to the reception before someone finally responded and issued a warning. The location is okay, a 15 min walk away from the city centre. On the plus side, the bathroom was large and clean, which was a small relief. Breakfast was average with limited variety, though the breakfast staff were very sweet and greeted everyone with a smile. Overall, I would never stay here again. I’m baffled by how this hotel is rated 4 stars, it’s not even close to a 2-star experience.

This hotel is in a perfect location for exploring Vienna, there is also a multitude of supermarkets, restaurants and bars locally. Less than a 10 min walk to the nearest underground station, which will connect you to anywhere in Vienna.
Check in - relatively smooth, young gentleman at reception who appeared relatively new and just handed us our keys with minimal information. There was a well appointed lobby with computers and a bar area.
Room - on the small side, but this is to be expected for a hotel of this period. Beds very comfortable and soft. Complimentary water every day which was appreciated. The room key, as mentioned in previous reviews, was a quite bulky A6 size and about 1cm in width - the hotel should consider changing these to credit card sized room keys similar to those used in other hotels we’ve been to before, they’re a lot easier for guests to carry. There was a promotion on at the hotel with options to have a free drink on the house or €2 donation to charity, in exchange for no daily room service, to reduce environmental impact.
We did not opt for breakfast, as it was quite expensive and there are plenty of local bakeries where you can get a nice coffee and pastry for much less.
We found staff on reception to be quite reserved and not always that helpful when asking for advice, but no major issues.
Overall good hotel in a great location, a few bits to work on but would recommend.

I don't know how this hotel got such a high rating. Most of the staff was not friendly or helpful. Our room had shabby furniture, and a toilet flush mechanism that didn't work. The "minibar" was an empty refrigerator and we couldn't get bottled water unless we paid for it at the "bar" which was a few stools, 5 drink choices, and staffed by the front desk. The breakfast was fair, but crowded on a small table where you couldn't pick things up. One desk clerk was unable to tell us how to use the great public transportation (several stops of tram, bus and subway less than 5 minutes away).

We booked 2 rooms and were given rooms on different floors, one on the fourth floor and one on the second. Unfortunately on the second floor there was some renovation work being carried out at a very early hour and creating a lot of dust and noxious fumes from the room.
When we mentioned it to the hotel staff they actually agreed that no one should be put on the second floor whilst the work was being carried out but could not offer an alternative room.
To make things worse the work in question was started before 08.00 on all occasions with drilling and loud banging.
This hotel is in a very quiet location in Vienna and the staff in the breakfast hall were all fantastic but this noise and interruption put a black mark on the trip.

Great location - on a quiet square on the edge of city centre, so lots in walking distance but also meant you got a good nights sleep without disturbance. Less than 5 mins walk from the underground station. We booked a "cosy urban room" and were given room 607 on the top floor. It was a really good size and we were very comfortable there for our 4 night stay. The room was very clean and had everything we could have needed, including good WiFi. The breakfast was tasty and fresh with lots of options and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We'd happily return!

When we arrive, we contemplate a beautiful facade overlooking a nice square near the city center but without nuisance! However, when you get inside, you get a little disgusted! The lobby is cold on one side the reception on the other a not very welcoming bar without a seating area where you can sit to discuss and prepare your day trip. Only place to meet, the room! Let's talk about our own. 103 and 109 on the 1st floor, they are not recommended to claustrophobic people! Dark because they only have a window overlooking a small gravel courtyard. You can see a bit of sky when you wring your neck. The room itself, without charm, is functional as well as the dressing room and bathroom. We asked to change but we were told that this was not possible!!! Beautiful breakfast room and smiling and diligent service... The significant advantage of this Pension is that it is located not far from the Check-out of the shuttle bus to the airport! Too bad...

They certainly do, however they are the usual small size , and were not replaced every day . However there is a Aldi just around the corner if you require more . We actually took a small bottle of conditioner with us for this trip .
There are more places to choose from in the Vienna area.
