I had a solo room with TV, single bed, closet and sink. Comfortable enough, price was just fine for such a convenient location. Behind my window I had St. Joseph church, where bell rings at 9.00..I loved it.

This is a family-run hotel in a magnificent location within walking distance to museums, restaurants, shopping and more... and in addition, the hotel has a spa! I had three fabulous massages during my stay and can totally recommend them. The people were lovely, the food was good, the accommodation was basic but for the price it was excellent! I will...

My family and I just stayed at this hotel. We booked a suite and it was a very nice size, especially for NYC. The service was excellent, the gym was very good and the location of this hotel is fantastic, within walking distance to most theaters and sites.

The best thing about this hotel is the location, within walking distance to the palace and fine arts museum. It is also right across the street from a major shopping center, with tons of stores and restaurants. The people are very friendly, the lobby is beautiful and the breakfast very good. Our room itself was very basic, nothing fancy but...

I liked almost everything about this place - awesome location, clean and bright interiors, friendly people at the reception and budget price. Our room had its own shower and sink - it was a little odd since they were not in separate space. I noticed really only two minuses: there was no sink in the shared wc, and room was...

I've been in this hotel during Christmas period. We were three in a room (No.6) as a family so it was OK. Room has own WC and shower. it was not spacious but was enough as we needed hotel only for sleeping. Room was always clean and house-kept well. The service in front-desk was superb, staff very friendly and help-full...

First day we arrived our room wasn't really perfect but from the second day there was an upgrade and they moved us to a better room. The Staff was really friendly and polite and they helped with every little problem that we had. It was near the most of historical buildings and only 5 minutes walk to the metro station....

Really good people, helped me a lot. Under budget hotel with good location. I am going to be back, for sure!

Just off Mariahilferstrasse we found this little cafe for breakfast. Nice buffet at very reasonable price - as mentioned good value for money. Further, we recommend it for it´s very friendly and flexible staff.

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights when attending a conference. One great point in favor is the location, that is really good, near U3 and U2 metro and the museum quarter. The room as well was pretty nice. Small but tidy and comfortable. However I did not like that most of the rooms had the bath outside it and...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
