Very good value for money and the staff are very helpful. It is within walking distance of all the major sights in the centre of Vienna. It has to be said that the furniture in the rooms is a bit basic and it would have really helped me to have had a table high enough that I could have got...

We stayed in the Lerner for 6 nights over new year and I would highly recommend it. Very friendly staff who made us feel welcome and who went out of their way to ensure that our stay with them was enjoyable. Little touches like a new years gift pack and making us a meal when we arrived out of hours...

We stayed at Pension Lerner for three nights in September 2010. It was the third city on a train journey through central Europe, when we also visited Berlin, Prague and Budapest. Pension Lerner’s best attribute is its location. We arrived in Vienna by train into Wien Miedling station, used the efficient Vienna underground, changing at Westbanhof for Herrengasse, thereafter a...

Great pension. Very quiet, large room with basic but adequate furnishings. The location is terrific - close to all you want to see in the District 1 but enough away so you dont have enormous amount of street noise. Excellent speed of internet connection. Breakfast fine - not lavish but more than adequate. Only "complaint" - and it is a...

We had a lovely stay at Pension Lerner, very convenient in the heart of Vienna. Beautiful white linen, and lovely breakfast, very helpful and friendly people. The only difficulty we had was the lack of signage on the street. The Airport bus stopped very close, and the directions we were given were very clear until we reached the street, then...

This was my first time staying in a pension. Lerner is a 7 room pension located very close to city center and within walking distance to bars, restaurants, and most attractions. My room was a twin. It was clean, comfortable, and had free WIFI internet. I thought the staff was friendly and helpful. Typical European breakfast of bread and jam...

The most unprofessional pension ever. We had booked a room, they had our credit card number and when we got there they told us that they had no room!!!!! So, we spend our first day in Vienna full of anxiety!!! I hope that nobody will ever fell the way we felt during our vacations. That incident destroyed our happiness and...

We stayed at this hotel for two nights at the end of March 2009. This hotel is badly in need of a makeover. The rooms feel rather spartan and the furniture looks like it needs to be replaced. The linens seem like they are getting a bit old and the towels are as rough as sandpaper (no joke). The bed...

This was the first time I've ever spent time looking at the artwork in a hotel room. Our room was decorated with old Viennese prints and fliers that reflected the charm and attention to detail emanating from the Pension Lerner. Though it's no full service hotel, the staff made our late arrival a breeze and offered to pack us breakfast...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
