My husband and I went to Vienna for 3 days to meet up with Austrian friends and see the sights. I chose this hotel because the photo of the exterior and the recommendations on Trip Advisor appealed. The location was good, away from the bustle of the city centre and easy access on the underground. It was a two minute...

Travelled to Vienna in late summer with my wife and 2-year-old. We chose this hotel as it's listed as being family friendly. I have to say that overall this is true, they have cots for the rooms and high-chairs for breakfast etc. Location-wise it's good. It's not right in the centre of the city, rather in Leopoldstadt very close to...

This was very good value for the location and the reception staff were consistently helpful and pleasant, volunteering tips on attractions and places to eat. The room was an adequate size for a city hotel and the a/c was welcome and effective. Clean and quiet. Best breakfast of the ten hotels in which we stayed on our cycle tour.

We stayed here 5 days. We chose this hotel based mostly on the classic styling of the exterior. We were happy with our stay. The room was on the small side but it had everything that we needed. No view from our room, but it was quiet. Staff was friendly and attentive. We had some laundry done while staying here...

This is a great value hotel for a stay in Central Vienna. The location, on Praterstrasse, is ideal for exploring this fabulous city. Although its not right in the centre of the city it is only about 20 minutes walk from the main tourist and commercial area and is situated in a quieter neighbourhood on the other side of the...

Unassuming from the outside but a real gem inside this medium sized hotel was an excellent find. Price was very reasonable through booking.com. As others have noted it was very convenient for the metro and walking distance from many central places. There were many interesting restaurants, cafes and galleries within walking distance of the hotel. The room was spotlessly clean...

We used the Austria Classic Hotel Wien as our lodging while visiting Vienna and it turned out to be ideally situated for us. It is close to the old city center with its many attractions, and has good access to the metro which allowed us to get around town easily. The Wien-Karte, or Vienna Card, was available at the hotel...

The hotel is located near a big metro station e close to historial sites and downtown. It is a old building, but well maintained. The room isn`t big, but comfortable. Everything were cleaned and organized, everyday. The staff is friendly and everybody speak English. The breakfast is very good, with many options.

The hotel is well-located, about midway between two subway stops, so it's easy to get about the city. It's across the street from a fun little amusement park, definitely worth a walk-through. There's also a nice restaurant across the street if you want to stay close-by, but the staff have good suggestions for restaurants farther afield if you prefer. The...

Very good hotel; helpful and friendly employees; clean rooms; very good breakfast; U-Bahn and S-Bahn only 2-minutes-walk from the hotel. Easy to reach also from the airport, using S-Bahn. Good value for money.

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
