Hotel is near peterstren station only 5 minutes on foot. I suggest you to remember the way out because peterstren is a big station. Comfortable room and big bathroom because they have bathtub. The price include breakfast. Receptionist is nice and helpfull, they give map and information for place that we want to visit. They give info for the best...

On the S-Bahn direct to Praterstern which is a two minute walk away once you get your bearings. Made easier for us by BA leaving our luggage in London so we were hands free. The hotel is really well placed around a 15/20 minute stroll from Stephansdom, the cathedral in the centre, by walking down the Praterstrasse, which means you...

I brought a group of singles to this hotel from Singles in Paradise. We had 25 rooms and it worked out well for our budget. It's about a 5 minute walk to the subway and from there it's only 2 stops to the Old Towne area. There are a few restaurants nearby if you don't feel like taking the subway....

If you are looking for a nice hotel just 15 walking minutes from the old center of Vienna, you can stop looking. This is a great hotel. It is in a quite side street and it is a nice walk to the center. The Sofitel is only 5 minutes away so you are definately in the right neighborhood. We had...

The staff at Hotel Wilhelmshof was extremely helpful and always accommodated all of our needs. They even took care of a suit that needed to be cleaned and pressed by taking it to the local dry cleaner while we were off for the day. The breakfast provided a wide range of foods to select. The hotel is a five-minute walk...

This is a wonderful place to stay, just a step away from the center of Vienna. The deluxe room was very clean, quite big and very comfortable. The staff was very helpful and always smiling. I recommend it!

Spent 7 nights at the hotel. Efficient, but not overly friendly front desk staff. Did allow us to check in at 11 am, which was excellent. Clean and very spacious room with lovely big bathroom. Excellent breakfast with large variety - both Viennese and traditional warm "English". Wifi a bit irritating - need to ask for a new username and...

We had stayed at this hotel for 4 days holiday and it was quite comfortable! The hotel was located very close to Prater and just 2-3 minutes walk to U bahn. The breakfast was buffet and was really perfect! The rooms are clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to visit lovely Vienna.

Wilhelmshof is a very decent hotel if you book what they call a "delux" room. There is nothing delux about it, but it freshly renovated and has modern furniture, TV etc. We were first given a standard room by mistake and the difference is huge. Standard rooms are dated and are indeed very smoky. Both are very good size though,...

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
