We loved this hotel. The staff are exceptionally welcoming from the minute you arrive, nothing is too much hassle for them. The rooms are clean and spacious and the breakfast plentiful with lots of options. Afternoon tea and cake was a lovely touch. The common rooms are welcoming with great art work and a great place to spend an hour...

This hotel is a wonderful find. The location is perfect for exploring the city, and yet, it is quiet. The staff was super helpful and the breakfast was excellent. We found the interior design and artwork fascinating, as well as the integration of old and new building elements. We highly recommend the Hotel Altstadt Vienna!

Breakfast wonderful with biodynamic choices. Near Museum Quartier so close to centre of town. Beds and sheeting very comfy with quality bath goods. A tip- turn right rather than left when you exit the hotel if you want quality eating area and shops.

Love at first sight, from smile of a beautiful girl at the reception to delicate smell of fresh wood in a brand new designed room with high ceilings. The stuff is really friendly and always pleased to help. Hotel itself is a great mix of historical building and modern art. Great location, quiet and calm neighborhood but everything is within...

Great hotel with a short walk to the volkstheatre underground station, although we walked to most of the attractions. Friendly staff who genuinely seem happy in their work. Very good breakfast with plenty of choice. We stocked up for the day. We had a junior suite and it was lovely. Slept really well. My only minor complaint is the shower...

I love the way this hotel designs their rooms. I understand that every room has a different concept, and from the room key to the memorabilia/toiletries provided in the room, it is just different from the usual run of the mill hotels. The room was cosy, bed was comfortable, the hotel has a tea time as well where u can...

The Altstadt Vienna doesn't look very promising from the road but is a small Gem. The hotel is centrally located close to the Museums, so it is a good starting point to visit the city for business of for city break. Very friendly and helpful staff in reception and on breakfast. The decor and furnishings of the hotel and our...

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
