Le Méridien Vienna stands out for its modern and stylish rooms that offer comfort and a chic design, although some guests feel that they could be better lit and more amply equipped. Its central location earns high marks for convenience and proximity to city attractions. While the hotel's amenities and cleanliness generally meet guests' expectations, there are occasional mentions of the need for improvement in these areas. The staff's professionalism is acknowledged, despite some reports of service inconsistencies. However, the hotel's value proposition is questioned by those who expect more from a 5-star establishment, particularly regarding dining and room amenities.

Stayed here over the Christmas period in a deluxe larger room. The room was a good size and the bathroom was a good size too, included both bath and shower.
The mini bar is complementary (includes 1 beer, 2-3 soft drinks, sparkling water and juice) and was replaced every day of our stay.
Breakfast has a large selection of food, both hot and cold, but as the hotel was full over the Xmas break there were some queues forming around 9am.
Gym is fairly small but had most of the equipment you need.
We really liked the location a mere 2 min walk from the Opera house but it still felt sufficiently away from the madness of the area immedietly by the Opera house.
Definitely recommned this place if the price is right, as its not cheap.

We recently returned from an “extended stay” at the Vienna Le Meridien Hotel. When we first checked in for our planned 5-night stay the entire staff – Front Desk Reception Team, F, B & C, and Housekeeping were all top-notch. On the last day of our stay, we tested positive for COVID for our return flight to the US. This is when the Vienna Le Meridien Team really kicked into “high-gear”. Staff & Management became our advocates with the local health authorities. They cut through bureaucratic red tape and assisted with official documents. When our PCR tests came back “Positive”, we were advised that we would be required to transfer to the Vienna City Quarantine Hotel for tourists. Upon inquiry, the LE Meridien found out that the quarantine hotel was fully booked. Our hotel team received permission from the health authorities to allow us to quarantine in place. This meant that we were not allowed to step outside of our room for the entire quarantine period. The staff provided both logistical and emotional support for us during this time. Each morning the Food/Beverage Department provided more than enough food for lunch and dinner. The Housekeeping staff ensured our linens were clean and that we had fresh towels, soap, and toiletry supplies left at our door so that we were able to maintain our own space and feel comfortable. This significantly reduced our anxiety levels. We are returning to Vienna in June and have already booked another stay at the Vienna Le Meridien Hotel.

We booked this hotel for it’s central location, but after spending €500/night we realized that amenities and services offered were pretty much the same as our friends had at a hotel one block away that charged €130/night.

Pros:
Our room was Executive King one and it was quite large, overlooking the Opernring.
Soundproofing was one of the best we experienced so far. The hotel was quite busy and all rooms around us were occupied, but we never heard any noise.
Temperature control was working well.
Soaps, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were really good quality.
Breakfast was outstanding with a very large variety of items that were getting regularly replenished and the whole breakfast are was kept spotless.
The location is perfect for sightseeing and access to public transportation.
There are also many good restaurants and cafes in the area.
Staff was very helpful. We asked for lunch box one night, as we had to leave very early the next morning, before breakfast and we got a very tasty lunch box.
The next door lounge and library bar are a perfect spot for a drink or some food after a long day in the city.

Cons:
There was no door man/ bell boy on duty and no one to help with heavy suitcases.
The reception area is quite small and it gets very crowded when larger groups arrive.
We were offered drink vouchers for every day that we declined housekeeping, but there is a catch and you can only get soft drinks, beer or sparkling wine from the reception, not the lounge - it was not worth it at all.
Bed and pillows were not as comfortable as in other Marriott brand hotels. Frosted glass bathroom door and glass panel behind the bed illuminated the whole room when one of us used the bathroom in the middle of the night. Bathroom ventilation and shower drainage was not good. After only one short shower the whole bathroom felt damp.
Coffee from the machines tasted very bitter and it was boiling hot. Filtered coffee is much better, but you have to ask for it.
The gym and the pool were always crowded and we did not end up using them. We were told that these premises are open to public during certain hours and there were lot of people using them who were not guests.

On our next visit we will chose another hotel.

If you visit Vienna with the idea of having a lot of cultural events, of walking a lot every day, the Meridien is just in the right location. It is close to the famous Wiener Staatsoper, to the Musikverein, to the Museums of art and nature, quite close (walk) to the Stephansdom, to the Albertina, etc.. The hotel has the "cold, international" style: no "Austrian soul". You find this type of hotel all over the world. Modern, efficient, with all you need, including a very fast internet in the room.
The guest is welcomed by very kind persons serving the lobby, the room is generous, clean and quiet.
Breakfast is too expensive (32 Euro) if it is not included in your hotel-package (24 Euro).
The accommodation price is acceptable, considering the high standard.
If you want to discover this great city, with a lot of history, we recommend to use the "hop on - hop off" buses around the Staatsoper (5 minutes walking from the hotel).

I arrive to the room at 15pm and no one clean the room I calm reception and I got the format replay “sorry”
I asked just to get new clean towels and I got them after 45 min and in between had few calls with someone at the reception that is investigating when the room was not clean and I was told that it can be done till 17 pm looks strange .
The front door personnel very helpful and in the front desk when I need some info.
But still as a Marriott member I am used for much better service and just to mention that saying sorry in 2021 is not anymore acceptable as standard service

Location of the hotel could not be better: short walking distance to major museums, shopping streets and main metro station Karlplatz. Also an opera is almost opposite the hotel, and two major concert halls 10 and 15 minutes leisurely walk.
Rooms are large, both twin and king size beds. King size bed, is like in the US and not like in Europe, where very often they are rather queen size. The bathroom has separate tub and large shower cabin, with multiple showers. An excellent breakfast makes the stay even more enjoyable. Those who like to open a window during night would be happy to know that windows could be opened widely. Rooms facing a courtyard are really quiet.

I actually didn’t even stay at this hotel this time, although it was booked by me months in advance.
I booked their pretty expensive terrace room and was happy to land their special price due to the lack of demand lately.
But 2 weeks before my arrival the hotel has decided to make a “structural renovation” in those rooms and informed me about unavailability of my room type. Which was obviously the fault of their reservation office – no any hotel in the world would ever make the rooms available for booking, if they are up for a closure soon.

Ok, they suddenly decide to renovate the room I am going to stay at. So, what do they offer me for this inconvenience? The hotel email offered me to stay in the cheapest hotel room instead. And that was the only option they offered! When I asked why I was being downgraded all of a sudden, they offered me the possible upgrade to another cheap room, but still with arrogant “based on availability” remark. When I mentioned, that I am only interested in balcony and terrace room and asked them to help me to level the “last-minute” price for the balcony room in another hotel of their hotel chain, they sent me the offer which was 10% higher, than the public price of that hotel.
At that time, I have figured already, that they are simply forcing me to cancel my reservation at any cost, and I asked to talk to general manager. Well, he ignored my request of the balcony room in the neighboring hotel of the same chain and offered me another room type at Le Meridien (still ignoring my request of the balcony room).

Well, I finally did what they wanted. I cancelled my reservation and told myself to forget about Le Meridien Vienna forever. The lack of guest relationship management is not new to the hotel business, but I would never expect it from the 5-star place.
Well, now I know one hotel in Vienna, which doesn’t care about its guests at all.

This hotel is in a great location. It does look pretty. That, combined with my previous experiences with the Marriott chain, enticed me to stay here.

However, I would not stay again.

To start, it seems to be a convention hotel. Had I realized this I would have stayed elsewhere. Service is spotty. Generally polite, but not up to standard. I had a number of issues. The breakfast area is just too busy. The room is modern - perhaps too much so - I couldn’t figure out how to get the room service menu (a QR code built into the far corner of the desk), turn on the desk light, etc. Not intuitive and no paper guides. Soap, shampoo and conditioner is provided but attached to the wall, so no ability to take it/use it in the bathtub. But most importantly, the beds are terribly uncomfortable. I felt like I was sleeping on a pull out sofa.

Definitely the low point of my stay in Vienna. Do better, Marriott. Be better.

Positives: location and staff
Negatives: rather than make a hotel room comfortable for guests, this hotel sacrifices things like shelf/counter space in the bathroom, towel hooks/racks in bathroom, and floor space for unnecessary ornamentation and design. There is simply no place to hang a towel that you can reach after a shower. No place in the bathroom for two adults to put even minimal things (toothbrush, hairbrush, toothpaste, razors, eye care, etc. The hairdryer is stored in a hall cabinet thing rather than in the bathroom. The TV sits on a 4x6 platform that serves no other purpose, rather than putting the tv on the wall or on a bureau with useful drawers. There is a closet but it holds maybe 5 items. Such a shame. If the hotel was designed by people who actually stay in a hotel room for a few nights, they would get rid of the furniture/built-ins selected by first year design students, reposition the bed, and recoup enough room for another chair and luggage. On top of this, the “modern” design elements make clicking sounds for hours after the lights are turned off and the check in is so poorly functioning that WiFi isn’t enabled to your room for hours after check in AND your TV will turn on in the middle of the night with your welcome message once the hotels check-in finally works. I would not recommend staying here.
