We stayed 2 nights at this hotel and were very impressed by how modern the design is. We had a room on the 7th floor, thanks to my status, and it was really big and well lighted. Bathroom had interesting design elements, with three shower heads in the shower and a separate bath. Everything in the minibar was offered complimentary,...

When you get older and experienced with travel, you pick your hotel along brands, purpose and online ratings. With this one, I failed in the first 2 criterias. The "Le Meridien" in Vienna underdelivers on its brand and the "chic" it wants to represent. Here is my story: - Arrived at 3.15pm, the room was not ready (kind of late,...

Great location, walking distance to many significant sites in Vienna. The cold, ultra modern environment is not very welcoming , although the rooms and suites ( was there with friends) were large and comfortable, especially the down comforters on the bed. The only place to get something to eat was a small, smokey champaigne bar thas was very expensive with...

I recently stayed in Le Meridien Vienna and can categorically say I won't ever go back. Le Meridien's advertising contains straight out lies and it is not a 5 star hotel. As I often stay at Starwood hotels I was quite surprised at the misleading nature of the advertising and the sub-standard quality of the hotel. I made my booking...

The location is superb, within a short walk of many important sites. The hotel is in an old building that has been modernised. The rooms have very high ceilings and modern decor. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast is expensive and not especially good. But what really lets this hotel down is the use of background 'music' in the lifts...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
