The service we received in this hotel was more than you'll receive in a five star hotels. They're genuine service is what makes them unbeatable! Not to mention their nicely designed spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, generous toiletries, lovely healthy breakfast and quiet neighborhood made our Vienna holiday very memorable and wonderful. Definitely coming back to this hotel. By the...

This is an unusual hotel located near the City Hall offering a fine selection of wines 24 hours a day! Service is friendly and excellent! It is located in a quiet residential area with convenient access to high quality local restaurants. Within easy walking distance to the Hofburg, Kunst Historisches Museum, Heidenplatz, and even shopping along Mariahilfe Strasse. The annual...

Overall very pleasant hotel stay. Good sized room with interesting, simple and comfortable decor. Staff very helpful. Wine and snacks available in a small central outdoor courtyard. I normally don't write bad reviews but this was my worst experience in long time. let me tell you about it. There is not way that the hotel could be 4 starts, perhaps 2 starts. It is a good deal for no more than 80 euros including breakfast, anything above that price you are burning cash ( sadly i paid...

We had a nice stay at the hotel. After a warm welcome we could choose one of different rooms they showed us. The rooms are modern, but have not a cold atmosphere as in other places. We liked the shades! After a long day strolling through Vienna (the city centre is close!) we came "home" and were happy to taste...

I only stayed 24 hours in Vienna, but I could not have picked a better spot! The hotel has a really cool design and the Wine theme is visible everywhere with empty bottles used in the interior design, the names of the rooms etc. My room was very spacious with quite a comfy bed, a lovely bathroom and great shower....

Huge room, great breakfast, and helpful staff. Snack but no real dinner menu so plan to eat at restaurants in the area. Despite being encouraged by the waitress to eat dinner at a recommended restaurant, I ordered the small steak and salad after an exhausting day of traveling to Vienna. The two small steaks were extremely tough and I could...

I liked this hotel from the moment we arrived, despite not being able to get access to the room! We had arrived at just after 6 am so did not expect the room to be available but the staff member was so polite and apologetic we were happy to be told as much. When we did get access to the...

Really great hotel. Good location with easy access to Old Town on foot and by Underground. The hotel rooms are modern, large and with all mod cons - furnishings are elegantly modern. Staff are first class - friendly, helpful and prepared to go the extra mile. Breakfasts very good and light meals of excellent standard. Wine theme adds the extra...

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
