It was excellent stay. I should change the reservation for the next day but Mr. Georg Nagl did everything perfect. The hotel is nice with good location and garage on two levels. The rooms were well equipped with everything you might need. Wi-Fi was working perfect. The breakfast was really good and rich. They have been waiting for us so...

So it's an Ibis Budget... For the price, you're close from the city center, only minutes walk from the metro station. The rooms are big enough but really what's surprised me was the bathroom. I mean, there isn't a bathroom. The shower cabin is in the room, with a clear glass except for the central part. It's really inconvenient depending...

Friendly staff, very helpful. The China room was nice and clean, with a panda bear waiting for us, with tea making facilities. and a comforting mattress. The breakfast was for any taste. Good location, near two subway stations. I'll come back gladly!

Some upsides and downsides on this stay. The good part: room was big enough and decent bathroom. Breakfast was really good (for a ibis). All our requests (like more towels) we're attended. And it's a 2km walk to Karlplatz and 500m to a subway. The not so good part: the neighborhood of the hotel is not the most polished... it's...

It's a ten minute walk in a quiet residential neighbourhood to the nearest Metro station from this hotel but from there it's a whizz to get anywhere in the city. Buy an unlimited public transport pass and you're laughing all the way to the Schloss. What more can I say? It's an Ibis. Basic but comfortable. Rooms are a good...

NOTE: Google Maps is not updated with Vienna transit info, so don't be discouraged by the directions for transit. It's about a 5 minute walk to either Pilgrimgasse or Margaretengürtel U-bahn stations on U4 line. It's 2 U-bahns stops to the edge of the city center, so it's walkable if you want. U-bahn runs 24 hours Fri and Sat nights...

Staying in Margareten

Neighbourhood Profile
Margareten
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
