The location of the pension is amazing, really close to the historical centre. There is a great restaurant few doors away and the street is very quiet. We stayed in a huge bedroom, really clean, with very comfortable bed. The decoration was old and funny though. Breakfast was reasonable but we were under the impression they served the cheapest brands they... More

Located close to St Stephen's cathedral this pension is the perfect location to explore Vienna. It is a pension so don't expect hotel style decor (it's more travel lodge). The staff are lovely, they do speak english and always there to help, give advice or to book taxis. It is very clean and the shower is hot and powerful. The... More

We stayed here for two nights over the Christmas break. It was a perfect location to see the markets and cathedral. We were able to pop back and drop off bags and head back out again. There is a small kitchen, so you can eat some meals in the room. The bedrooms were spacious and there was even laundry facilities.... More

we were a bit worried when reading some reviews before we went but were pleasantly surprised to find that the staff did understand and speak some English far more than we could do in German! Our room was large and airy and very comfortable. Breakfast was a bit basic but sufficient. The location of the hotel couldn't be better as... More

Our family of ten stayed at hotel Pension Lumes. Our units were three bedrooms and very roomy. There is no maid service and rooms are not on the ground floor but there is an elevator to take up luggage. The hotel is a five minute walk from shops, restaurants and tons to do. Great if you want more a homey... More

The Hotel is very coles to the main reference in Vienna Stephansplaz. Also short walk to the main popular and Commercial street. The Hotel is on a second floor and is small, I guess 7 or 8 rooms. Our room very confortable but the size of the shower is small. Everyrhing else thumbs up.

The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. It is located in a quiet street near the city centre, so it is ideal for sightseeing, shopping and dining. Its location on the 2nd floor of a building may make it difficult to find if you arrive vienna at night time. The breakfast is a bit simple. Otherwise it is... More

We stayed at Pension Lumes in December for a couple of days. The best thing about this place is its location, very close to St Stephan's platz. It is a bit unusual and crammed, being located on one floor of an old building, not in top notch condition. There is no restaurant, just a small serving area for breakfast. Our... More

No porter to help you with your luggage, very old building, very old elevator and very small, you lock the rooms with an actual keys, you have to ring a bell to open the hotel door, no air conditioning only fans and we booked it in august. Beds are very old. Simply it's a two star hotel. If you are... More

Our group of 6 stayed here for a week over Christmas. This apartment was great- lots of space (for an old-town European hotel), washing machine, dishwasher, wifi (a bit dodgy but mostly worked). Very good location, just a few minutes walk from St Stephens church, the main street, public transport and many restaurants. The lady on reception when we arrived... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
